You need a very hard wheel to slide on. Wooden wheels will work. Most of us that slide in Detroit use fo-mac wheels. Rubber wheels don't work well to slide in, they grip too much

Love the Detroit slide. I'm from Detroit too. I think I was at that rink in Atl when this video was made. I remember the guy sliding with a curve on the end (the one with the braids)
