I do NOT miss school. Its hard to change peoples' minds after the years of false information, especially when you're trying to do it in the place where they receive that false information.
Very good points. I commend you on staying calm. Unfortunately the educational system in the United States limits individual thought. The teacher tried to intimidate you and the class followed like sheep. Your way of thinking is not tolerated in a high school setting because it goes against the status quo. You will be acknowledged a lot more in college. You're on the right track.
I like what the hippies in Christiania, Kobenhavn did, they said " if it need any chemical process it, don't bring it here, they had weed, shrooms and such, but when hells angels came and tried to take over and bring hard drugs, they chased them out. it took them three days to sum up the courage, cause the angels were packing heat.
kudos on staying staying calm keeping your head while the entire class attacks you.
nice try, but, eh, what do you expect? no matter how articulate you are, no matter how well stated your points are, in a place like your school, this type of unpopular view will never be accepted. your teacher and your classmates will never take you seriously and completely ignore your arguments.
I really liked the divorce counter at the end, very good point.
I'm a big existentialist myself, but if all these drugs are to be made legal, we first need to create a reliable domestic resource. This could actually better our economy (no more importing drugs) (in theory, it would anyways) and free up our jails considerably. Overall, I believe drug related crime rate would more then likely decrease pretty significantly.

I got into a debate in my class about this and there were a few students that took my side and fortunately for me, the teacher was neutral.

It's refreshing th hear someone who isn't just completely psychotic and intellectually disabled when it comes to the issue of drugs legalization.
|||mrsnickjonas||| represents the typical level of intellectual sophistication of the 'keep drugs illegal' argument.
