"Are you busy?" I love this commercial. I'm a systems programmer. I get deep into a piece of code and invariably, someone will pop into my cube at the worst time and say "Are you busy?" Crash!!! goes the thought process. Signs don't work. Face stuck into a screen full of code doesn't work. AAAARRRGGHHH!!!! But then at least I've got a good job, so I'm OK! I just have to count to 10....

Unfortunately, we don't have a cure for people barging into your cube, but if they're asking you stuff that's not core to your job, they should think about hiring us to do that work, so you don't have to!

@XeroxCorp - So is the nature of our work. A study was done by UC Irvine showing that developers were interrupted from a variety of sources at this one corporation an average of every 3 minutes 5 seconds. I guess I don't have it so bad if that is true. And if my management felt it were necessary, they would give me an office with a door and my own dedicated lab! :^) Outside of that I get my best work done early in the morning or late in the evening where interruptions are fewer! Thanks!

I've seen this now what feels like 1.5 million times. Around I think the 234,000th time, I laughed, especially the technical manual guys stare after he loses the papers!

Then it struck me... this commercial certainly does show what is going on in the corporate world, where as they've laid off employees they've placed impossible burdens on the retained employees.

And you know that techman guys look on his face still means he wants the Ducati driver to do it! Thats the more effed up part of it.
