Prop driven pylon racers max out in speed in less than 4 second from a standing start, this is acompromise which means after a 20+ G corner they go back up to full speed in 1 - 1.5 seconds.

I realise jets are now beoynd the 500 kph mark - but could a jet maintain those speeds with constant high G load cornering?

This I somehow doubt - lest you can prove me wrong...curious.

Nice. A lot of guys are running MB motors. These motors achieve these rpms with NO nitromethane. There is mega work involved in pylon racing at that level, as you have to make your own props from carbon and the top guys do extensive testing - almost a full time job to be competitive.

I got hit by one of these at a British Pylon racing event at RAF Church Fenton near York back in 1982. The class was then known as Formula 1 and was mainly based around the Little Toni / Cosmic Wind.Today this class is known as F3D.

The plane came around number two pylon and through the centre of the course and hit me in the back, just to the right of my spine. The engine lodged inside my body with the spinner sticking out of the front.
