The patterns that you demonstrate are done very well. I am Instructor in W.T.F. Tae Kwon Do here in Canada. I have traveled Asia and will be going to Singapore soon. I hope to attend this school train with them. Keep up the good work. You clearly have a great Master there...
i just graded for my black tag this morning!! did bad in my breaking!! so i hope il pass ..!! but i did goo in everything else..expecially my patterns :) but now im must learn this 1..8 :S its kinda confusing haha
testing for red belt tommorrow in a.m looking forward to learning taegeuk 8, my taegeuk 7 (chil jang) is very crisp!! these videos are somewhat of a good reminder
Thank you for posting this. It has been helpful for me to relearn the Taegeuk series I learned 17 years ago. I do have 1 question-- does anyone know when they added the additional R middle punch after the 2nd dbl front kick? (where u go from a dbl low guarding block, L front kick, R jumping front kick, R inward middle block, L reverse punch). GM Richard Chun's test & Pu Gill Gwon's which is endorsed by WTF both only have the L reverse punch & then pivot to next block, w/o the R middle punch.
They finished way off the starting point - but in this taeguk it is the most difficult to get back to the target.
And I noticed a couple of mistakes in both ladies form - after the first fist punch they should have made a double front kick, instead of they made a jumping front kick. And I was thought to make my cat stances just a bit shorter than theirs and my back stances just a bit longer then theirs.
But never the less, this is one of better performances that can be found uploaded on youtube.
Wow good eye. I'm learning this form right now and from watching the videos I thought it was supposed to be jump front kick, but now that i pay attention it is a double front kick. o_O Thanks for the information!
It is a jumping front kick, but a double jumping front kick done in sequence. Unlike towards the end of the taegeuk when it is also a double front kick but you separate the kicks.
lol. I did this like 8 yrs ago.. Probably forgot most of them. :p But I remember that this is the funnest Taegeuk of all (I stopped after reaching poom, and never learnt Koryo)
