One is entitled to their own opinions. As far as performance, it is way overpowered. Those big heavy tires have too much mass and makes it hard to control at high rpm.
I bet every single dislike has not been anything to do with the video but with the sounds of Troll hell VS Robot hell !! FIGHT !!
The visuals are great. I pretty much like every kind of music under the sun, including polar opposites, But even I hate that awful discordant unmusical ear drum torture.... it was borderline painful to listen too. Shame as I wanted to hear what that machine sounded like when running.
awful discordant unmusical ear drum torture... LOL, sorry man. If the drive shft would not have been giving me problems I would of shown more of it running. I'm thinking of revisiting this project and will be sure to have more of it's sound in any future vid of it.
Yes, you don't want to go beyond the manufacture's max RPM and temperature of a particular motor. Multiply the motor's KV rating against your voltage to calculate the theoretical RPM (with no load). The vehicle's gearing and the running conditions determines the load and heat the motor feels. Start with a lower gear ratio and check the motor temperature, if not hot- then you can increase ratio.
@vsci79 I bought a stihl blower and took out the motor and replaced it with and 18V 8200pm brush motor I was tired of breathing the feul exaust from the mix gaz buring while i blew my yard.
I just needed to learn a few things getting more voltage ampage and speed out of the motor without burning it.
My tests are off a 400amp car booster 12V from walmart and everything seems fine no over heatting and batterie lasted 30 minutes.
I;m trying to go lighter more powerful Batteries any hints
hmmm, that's a bit beyond me but I would think there are some lipo batteries out there that would suit your needs. Have you seen the video of the MaxAmps battery starting the dragster? ( /watch?v=OQ8RzIBTmKI ) Just a thought, Good luck
@UGotKilledByACamper Thanks buddy been wondering how things work gonna build something myself just needed some input from fellas whom have done a great job building stuff I love man thanks!
NICE! I got a Losi Mini Crawler thats basically become a rock racer like that, but on the 1.9 side. stetched with a custom 4 link and modified Integy drive shafts, steel diffs and gears throughout exept the spur gear (if something gets shredded Id prefer it be that). I slapped in a Losi insane 330 I had laying around with a custom heat sink powered by a traxxas 6 cell nimh stick or regular losi mini pack. IT CAN GO LIKE STINK , just keep checking the esc and motor temp.
Thanks! The chassis is based on a Kyosho Rock Force "Carbon Fiber" Chassis from Xtreme Racing with stock Kyosho cross members / skidplate and a extra thick steel motor mount.
one fast 4 link crawler LOL...weird but awsome rig dude!! never seen anything like it! I do like the rock force chassis though, i been thinkin on getting one, I like the panhard setup they use!! and the puller tires are siiik!! it just looks really awsome! how does she do on the rocks??
@vsci79 ---DUDE i JUST notices you have those HR wheel widners 15-30mm setup?? yeah I have the same thing and they wobble like hell...better ones to go with are the g-made ones from CKRC.COM!! they are red and 15mm and use a hollow type nut/moreless a screw called a barrel nut and its tight =real nice!! damn those HR ones are like 30 bucks..what a waste i thought!! they work though! cant imagine how wobbly they would be with all them together for the 30.. setup LOL!!
Correct! Those HR wideners need to be replaced and why I haven't run those big puller tires in a while. I would wrap a thin layer of tape around the axle stub before sliding them on to try to take up the slop. As you said, they will work but I just knew there had to be something better. I will definitely check out the g-made, I absolutely appreciate the suggestion.
neat little vid, thats a pretty awesome looking truck too
however all i can see are those axles exploding as soon as you give it any beans, im assuming its all steel gears in the tranny and driveline? anything aluminium / plastic will be eaten immidiately
Yeah it has all hardened steel gears in the axles and either mod 1 or 32 pitch (spur/pinion) for the trans. The drive shafts are taking all the abuse at this point.
sick!

Tires are Imex Pullers (2.2 size). Hopefully Imex are still producing them or will have another run of them soon.

I need to know someinfo anybody please AMp lets say 60 amp or 80 or 100amp does that affect speed? or is it voltage that affects speed?
Like a 12V to a 24V would increase speed or is it ampage?
Dorisequador 1 year ago
@Dorisequador
Yes, increasing voltage will increase the speed but can't say for certain on the amps.
vsci79 1 year ago
@vsci79 Thanks for the info thats great news thank you now what about burning the engine if I go very high?

@Dorisequador Voltage is overall speed...But Amperage is more like punch. Amperage, although, has an effect on speed.
