Wow, there's a term for what I went through? AWESOME! :D
I totally did the whole 'Bisexual bridging'. I actually came out to my bi friend first, and felt great after, but recently, I've realized I've never had romantic feelings for a guy, and I only like girls. I've came out to my friends, cousin, stepsister, sister, parents and even my STEPmom, and then realized... It was all a lie. I'm not bi. To be honest, I don't plan on re-coming out anytime soon, to ANYONE
i have a twin brother and i reckon hes gay too.ive known since i was about 8/9 yrs old that i was a lesbian, i came out to my father when i was 13 and hes like 'dont worry its just a phase' but it isnt and never will be just a phase
I really enjoyed this video, thanks for making it :) I was 13 when my mum and dad knew something was going on with me. They sat me down, and made me tell them. In the end, I wrote them a note and ran off upstairs to my room. They dont have a problem with it at all, I just hate the fact they made me do it when I was so young. My friends have always been very supportive. Im 16 now, and Im alot more confident and open about it than I ever have been before, I dont care what anyone thinks anymore :)
Well atleast u guys had wachother to tell. I didn't have anyone...well except friends. But I lost a lot of friends after I told them. And I dont trust my family at all. They've displayed some hatred towards homosexuals. They basically tell me that homosexuality is a curse or an illness or whatever. so I'm pretty much scared shitless to tell them or have them find out. I'll tell them eventually but when I'm out of the house and away from them so no one could hit me lol
I just recently came out to my parents, my sisters and my brother-in-law already knew..I had told my parents that it wasn't a phase anymore, because I had come out to them 5yrs ago and just recently I felt like I had to come out to them again and reafirm that it wasn't a phase and now they won't fight it anymore.
just want to say that your thoughts on what to say to people who think it's all a phase really touched me! i wish i knew what to say when my parents reacted that way. that was really awesome though, and stuck with me. :)
I have to say I couldn't imagine how different it must have been for you as there are two of you comming out at the same time! (I'm sure you must of had a few grim guy mates that said you two where their fantasy!)I mean when I came out I was the same as both of you comming out as bisexual first, my mum and dad where and are really great and so where my friends and stuff but I don't know how they would have delt with the double shock!
Oh yeah just to add....my god Grace is fit! xxxxx ;P
Dudees...That was awesome information and advice. I think my Mum thinks that it's just a stage that I'm going through...But she seemed fairly supportive. Although she told me not to tell my Dad for some reason...Mmm.
Oh girls, you're so awesome. I'm already a fan. And don't worry about being serious, it was very interesting. And you still made me laugh with the coming out of the actual closet part.
So who won the competition ? Did you guys gather points and everything ?
i love the bit where grace comes out the closet that was cool n the music did slightly remind me of star warz lol
It was very well put together and thought out. You's definately gave me a new appreciation of you to because coming out at same time would be a been harder i think like even though yous had each other the bit about telling you mates n who is going first etc n both wanting a the first reacion type thing.
you guys are great! real good video. i think that bisexual bridging thing is super common.. also because perhaps bisexuality is sometimes more socially acceptable, so it's easier to say that than to go the whole way and say you're actually only into girls! haha. just a thought.
Great video but there was one part that i didnt quite understand because of the accents. What did you mean when you talked about shane from the l word?I only understood the first part of that sentence.
'or if you're shane from the L Word, you think you're gay from four'
..I'd spontaneously remembered the episode (Season .. 1?) when the gang's on a road trip to Dinah Shore and they're sharing their coming out stories.. Shane's was something cute involving a playground and some cute blonde (who was really young.. as was shane)
:)
Diehard fans can correct me on the exact age, hah.
I wouldn't know if it's just a 'phase'. However, I think it's more likely that a person could determine that they feel they identify as 'gay' and then realize it's more complex later, than for someone's feelings to suddenly switch 'off' about a gender overall.
I reckon it's tempting to want to know but I think the real question is 'WHY do you want to know now?' This may not be the case for you, but sometimes ambiguity makes people uncomfortable. our culture reinforces this. try <3 the ride :)
You are both so adorable! :)
