Muslims had the largest & most powerful empire in the world for nearly a thousand years
If their "main goal" was to "kill the jews" all jews under muslims would have been wiped out
To this day there are thousand year old jewish communities still living in Muslim countries
When Christians conquered spain and started killing the jews and muslims, where did the Jews flee too? They fled to the Muslims still in power in Turkey who protected them as refugees
@Eye0fTheStorm That was before Jews had the audacity to want their own land, their own rule of law, rights, freedom and all sorts of other crazy human rights. How dare them!
So thats how it works? Europeans commit the Holocaust, and then as penance for it, some British diplomat gives away an entire country in the middle east which other people had been living in for over a thousand years? Why didn't he chop Britain in half and make a soverign state for the jewish people there? Why not in a European country? After all it was the disgusting European antisemetism that allowed the holocaust to happen.
Christians commit the crime, Muslims pay the price
@Eye0fTheStorm So Muslims can conquer Northern Africa, India, etc move all over Europe and the USA. And a few million Jews can't immigrate to their ancestral homeland? Is that what you're saying? With or without Britain Jews would have immigrated back to Israel, many from other areas of the Middle East. The British actually tried to deter Jewish immigration and turn their back on their promise. In my opinion their involvement is the main reason for all of the turmoil today.
Mr Finkelstein, thank you for speaking slowly as English is not my native language. For the rest, I can't agree with your view of a Palestinian leadership constantly offering a hand for peace to an Israeli leadership doing everything to avoid it. If Israel was being carefull about making a deal with Arafat, it's not necessarily out of greed to keep the occupied territories. Israel doesn't need those territories. It's only because it didn't have reasons to believe that this would be the end.
Israel finally made a deal with Arafat, it offered him in 2001 the best it can, but Arafat refused. The very provoking terminology "defending itself against the peace offensive" that you like to use, is much more appropriate to the Palestinian leadership than to Israel. It's Arafat, not Israel who turned its back at the most crucial moment. And the intifada was an attempt to radicalize again the Israeli leadership (Barak) that was starting to really make concessions. Pal. do not want 2 states
And the question today is Hamas. Will this Islamic group give up it's Jihad against Israel? Will it be willing to be in a peacefull and harmonious relationship with Israel next door?
if you knew anything you would know his father WAS sent to the con. camps in nazi germany and barely survived he is agaisnt genocide and when he sees it even by his own people he goes against it your fucking insane research facts before you go mouthing off
I don't think Rattansi ever fully understands here what Finkelstein is saying about the reason Israel is afraid of Hamas behaving reasonably. When Hamas has shown that they are law-abiding and willing to cooperate, Israel could no longer claim that Hamas are crazy terrorists and thus Israel risked losing its pretext for slaughtering Palestinians. As always, Israel does not want peace; they want slaughter of Arabs. Fuck Israel.
Islamist will never stop the terrorism even if Israel give up the occupied territories.
That's in their teachings filled with HATE.
Their main goal is to kill all the Jews and non-believers.
Israel has really no choice here - but to fight back to survive which they've been doing for thousands of years.
Should the Israelis really want to eliminate them all then they could have done that a long long long long time ago.

This guy has NO common sense at all.
He's a self hating Jew !!
He would probably have shaken the hands of the Nazi's who would have sent him into the gas chamber.

How is he "self-hating"? If anything, he cares about the lives of all people.

What's important is that they're talking, and I suspect that Norm always believed that there was going to be another conflict.
