  • aww the poor thing didn't survive, that breaks my heart. awww

  • @quiettornado1970 Yes: very sad.

  • haha will it ever stop moving :P

  • commendable effort, sorry it didn't survive :(

  • @grobiegirl12 Thank you.

  • you did a good deed!

  • SOOO CUTE! >.<

  • that squirrel couldn't have been more than a couple of days old when this video was taken.

  • @ahhhhwhoreallycares NO: he was in a PARKING LOT in a little island. He could have been run over, stepped on, a cat, PLUS it was 112-114 degrees and he was in full sun. Not the same as being in a forested environment. We took him to a rehabber.

  • The whole if human touch baby animal then the mother abandons it because of our human scent is a myth.

  • @arescraft You are wrong. I grew up on a farm: I know it's true.

  • @JaSunni

no, that just means you're a dumb hick.

  • @arescraft Fuck you, dick.

  • Did this little guy survive?

  • @joyville2 Sadly, no. :(

  • he sounds like a lil baby :)

  • ever wonder what he's thinking?

  • Why is it in a cup?

  • @Sophiaec11 We were trying to get him to a rescuer. It was 112 F that day. He was fine. Just needed to be protected.

  • i hope you guys all realize that animals dont hurt their babies because your scent is on them. All animals go through what is called an imprinting phase. Its when the mom and baby recognize looks and sound and scent of the mom and baby. the process can be from a few hours to a few days. Sometimes babies are taken out before they can imprint on their mom and the mom can imprint on the baby. When it is put back the mom does not recognize the baby because it is past the imprinting phase.

  • @XxtenajxX Some of that is true. It depends on the timing, as you suggest.

  • You guys are great people for taking action to rescue the squirrel and take him to a proper care giver and being intelligent enough to try not to get your scent on him. I know to some people it may look sad that he's in a cup but its not like people walk around with proper cages for squirrels or any other abandoned animal one might find and that is the best you could do in the situation , I don't know if they would rather you leave the squirrel there to get malled by a cat or something.

  • he's soo cute!! and actually sounds like a baby xD

  • so cut

  • he just cant get comfortable can he lol

  • @sweetgirljaydie He was upset, I think. He had just fallen from his nest in a busy parking lot area. We tried to help him: very cute little guy!

  • Jeez. You could of put him at a warm, cozy little bed witth a heating pad. Not a cup. Wowyou would thing to have common sense.. He barely even fits! Squirrells like to cuddle like they would be in a nest with their siblings. Not to be kept naked. In a cup.

  • @AmeliaPaige1234 Again: it was 112 degrees! They can die of heat prostration, too, you know.

  • @AmeliaPaige1234 Yeah, well a cup was all they had for the squirrel to rest in.

  • And what killed him is the goats milk that is A BIG BIG NO NO ONLY PUPPY FORMULA THE REHAB LADY WAS A QUACK AND IF YOU HAD DID YOUR HOMEWORK YOU WOULD KNOW THAT GOATS MILK WILL KILL THEM,SO WILL REG MILK, SO YOU SENT HIM TO HIS DEATH ,WHY CANT PEOPLE LOOK UP WHAT TO DO IF YOU FIND A BABY SQUIRREL,IT WILL TELL YA THINGS TO DO ,THE REHAB LADY NEEDS HER LIC PULLED ,CALL DNR THEY WILL TELL YA WHAT AND WHO TO TAKE A BABY TO

  • @katjr1010 That didn't kill him. Trust me on that.

  • YOU CAN TOUCH THEM YOUR SCENT DOES NOT KEEP A MOMMY AWAY,And you only had to let it sit there its mom would come and get him .if after a few hours if not then find a rehab, and keep him warm even if its hot to you its not to him, they need warmth always ,what you did was not right .

  • @katjr1010 What is your deal? Trolling is not permitted.

  • @JaSunni I am Not trolling .I am a animal rehab and know what i am talking about .And you must be a troll since you know what trolling is,.last i knew there is no law on looking at or commenting on videos,If people dont want people to make comments on there video they should put it to private or not post it at all,Since youtube is here for looking at and posting videos,Your comment shows your ignorance....

  • sorry, not reading comments, did he survive?

  • i found a babby squirrel 2day but one of his legs r ripped of by my cat

  • Doesn't matter how hot it was that day. He was newborn. They need to be 99 degrees at all times. Very distressing to watch him struggle while listening to the conversation as if nothing is wrong.

  • Whoever was taking him should have told you to keep him warm or at least in something soft. They want to snuggle, not be completely in the open. It was torture watching him struggle in that ridiculous cup.

  • he was probably extremely stressed. its so sad that he died but you tried your best.

i found a 4/5 week old squirrel yesterday and i'm trying my best to keep him alive and healthy.

my cat was around him and the mother was nowhere.

  • @ghostluv1 hey i did 2 about 5 hours ago can u help me?

  • @savepimpn message me.

  • @ghostluv1 umm im new 2 youtube so u msg me plz

  • he is naked :/

  • CRUEL!!!!!!!!!!

  • @LostinSnow123 How?

They were trying to save the squirrel. They could have just left it where it was if they had wanted to.

  • @madnemmakeup Why don't you back off of these people, instead of calling them "cruel people." At least they took it to a wildlife rehabilitator.

  • your putting him through stress thats why he died

  • you should ahve kept it close to your body in your shirt or something. it's probably cold. i mean it was JUST born. you really shouldnt have put it in a small little plastic container.

  • Thanks to people who understand we were trying to save this little guy. We did take him to a rehabber. It was a sad thing. The reason he is uncovered is because it was 114 degrees that day. He was fine. He's in the cup to keep our scent off of him.

  • @JaSunni Damn you could of atleast put a piece of cloth or something. It must be concrete hard to him in there..

  • You guys should have put him in a blanket or something because a coffee cup isn't very comfortable. I took in a baby squirrel for a day last year during easter and I made a little nest out of this cat kennel I had. The next morning I took him out and he cuddled with me before I released him back into the trees, I see him everytime he comes around to my apartment patio

  • awwww:) how could sum1 diss like this?? :(

  • He's not a "active guy" he's more like a stressed out baby squirrel in a COFFEE CUP?! Who probably is hungry and misses his mother. Poor little guy.

    :(

  • @xFunnyBunny13x At least these folks were taking him to a wildlife rehabilitator, so how about cutting them some slack? :)

  • @threeby8887

Thank you. It was a tough thing. I can't believe how obnoxious people are! Thank you for your input, it means a lot.

  • you can touch a baby squirrel, the mother would take it back reguardless with your scent or not,the mothers are very protective and love their babies, thats all a myth about the human scent when it comes to nature,i rebilatate lots of squirrels if orphaned ,i have never failed them,i introduce them back to the wild slowly, and fully release them at 20 to 22 weeks old on there own,i love them!

  • @sprinklesdabomb some animals do know their babies by scent and can abandon the baby of the scent but i guess not squirrels

  • This is so sad. Can you please take this video down, this is just very disturbing :-(

  • please take this video down it is very disturbing - you are enjoying him squirming

  • i think your very kind people to rescue a squirrel most people nowadays just walk past and ignore them, :)

  • @eXtremelikeme

In fact we SAW people ignoring him! It was heartbreaking...

  • It was a girl..not a boy.

  • @JaSunni Well.. As a Rehabber I can tell you that the mother will take it back even if they smell like you.. You could of left him at the bottom of the tree and the mother may have came back. I'm sorry for the loss of this baby and i know you were just trying to help, but this is painful to watch.. I cried watching him try to find a nice spot to fall asleep... A cup was no place for this baby.

  • And hes not hairless, as you can see he is 'Fresh' lol he is newborn his eyes aren't even open!!

  • He was in the cup so that our scent wouldn't be on him and cause his mother to hurt him if we put him back in the nest. He was only in the cup a few minutes. The rescuer took him to her home, and he passed: he was saved from being mangled by a cat or something. It was a hot day. The rescuer had rehabilitated other squirrels. We feel bad about it: we're vegetarians, just had no experience raising a baby squirrel. It was sad, so lay off.

  • @JaSunni

I understand your good intentions, but watching the little guy struggle for warmth and some comfort is hard to see. He may have died in any case, and may have even hurt himself on the way down. But the video you have here is sad, and I wonder why you keep it on youtube? The little guy died, and this video just documents his eventual death.

  • @fmkappeler It might help others, that's why we posted it to begin with.

  • @JaSunni Hey, at least you tried. :)

  • Of course he died! Can you imagine how much energy he lost with this exersize in this coffe cup while you filmed his struggle? And you had no idea why he died???? Jesus Christ!!!!! You should feed him don't you think???????? Terrible!!!!!!! And you post it on youtube??????? I don't belive it!!!!!! Congratulation!!!!!!!

  • should have fed it with low latuse milk with a needleless tube method to feed baby squirrels. Baby squirrel will suck milk through tiny opening... (there is plenty of video examples at youtube from experienced squirrel pet owners). Another thing is It kept moving in paper cup. I just think he is not comfortable in it.... Maybe in a flat platform would be suitable.... Sadly reggie didn't make it... feels so sad too. Looking at its body form i think its a male squirrel we'd lost

  • Most of the time if you will just put the baby squirrel in a box at the bottom of the tree he fell from mom will come back within the hour and get him and take him back to the nest.

  • Comment removed

  • Whats the story? What happened to him? Is he still alive?

  • Sadly, no. He was only a few days old, and passed away with the rescuer that we turned him over to. It was very distressing, as we had grown to love little Reggie. We still have his picture up at our house, and will keep it up.

  • @JaSunni reading this made me cry because i found a baby mole in my back yard and his mom left him. we took him to a rehabilitation place and the baby refused to eat. they called me and said he was going to die so i went and said good bye.
