This song reminds me a famous tennis player that I dated for 2 yrs, for a year and half everything was AWESOME, after that his father found out,all hell broke loose. I knew in my heart it would never be the same again. His father was a terror and told him that he needed to focus on tennis and not some guy and what if people found out it would destroy his career. In the end it was to much for me handle and I left, I miss and will always love him, some things we just have no control over.
she has perfect pitch. At a recording session, the musicians had to retune, she had the note perfect, before hearing a reference. No pitch correction crap on her recordings. I promise.
Another one of those slit-my-wrist songs. Whenever I hear someone singing a love song in the past tense, it just seems depressing. Move on! Things get better! But some people just want to wallow in "The Way We Were". What about The Way We Will BE!? Ah well. Maybe I'm just being negative. I was trying to be positive.
I was born in 1978 but as with all wonderful things - at the age of 31 in 2009 this became my wedding song.... Time never removes what is truly classic.
This song reminds me of my Mom. Actually, it now reminds me of myself as a Mom...children rely so much on us as mothers, yet we need them as much as they need us
lovely!!

For some reason I love the contralto singing voice. Ann and Karen both had such clear velvety voices.

So true ! Her timing is perfect. She really is a marvellous singer. Love the tenderness in her voice..

Anne Murray rules. There's an Irish band called Westlife who I think ruined this classic masterpiece.

@DeputyDawn This reminds me of my childhood, when my mum used to sing it in our front room. I must get her to do again one day and post on youtube. x
