I don't know, but if you watch/ed Back To The Future 3 by Steven Spielberg, the main guy, Marty; goes back in time to the Old West, some guys see him and they ask: "Where's your hat?", Marty replies: "I must've forgot it", the guy says: "How can you forget a thing as important as a hat?" So obviously, John (probably) doesn't wear it because it's special, but (maybe) because it's a sort of requirement for westerners. Not sure about what I said, though

This game holds a special spot in my heart. played like a spaghetti western tarantino would be jealous of. The soundtrack just does it so much epic justice. Idiots don't realise that the game was basically developed in Japan by Capcom, Rockstar bought the publishing rights when Capcom gave up on it and Rockstar shined it up slightly and put it out.
