My grand mother lived in Wimbledon England at this time. When I asked her about this flu pandemic she said she didn't know anyone who had caught it let alone died from it.
There is one woman, Phyllis Burns who was 20 when she died, in Twickenham Cemetry who is known to have died from it. She was buried in a lead coffin thought to be virtually airtight. They dug her up in 2004 to try and extract any traces of the virus from her that may of survived in that enviroment, but there was none left.
Good Job the Influenza Pandemic of 1918 was forgotten by the people who survived it but we should never forget it. World wide 20 million people died and it will happen again
Chances are actually, it was more like between 50 million to 100 million people world wide because in many underdeveloped countries so many people were dying that they couldn'keep up on the body count.
