  • neat

  • why would you put the file mark in an "indiscreet" place?

  • good tips there man

  • It could also have a set of hallmarks depending on the national origin of the silver.

  • got some ashy knuckles there big guy

  • Funny, when I drop the acid it turns into a talking pink crow. Then we go on adventures.

  • "Do not do this at home. Period."

*Explains exactly how to do it*

  • my biach has a creamy white spot in the morning.

  • But Rick how can you spot a fake Copy of BattleToads?

  • nitric acid wont kill you idiot .. you can use it to cook omlets

  • Comment removed

  • Maturity level of people on YouTube... -.-

  • @TheCrazyFinn I know. It's very irritating. I used to be mature, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • @thedreamliner2012

I used to be a knee until i took an adventurer to the arrow

  • @thedreamliner2012 FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUck you

  • @mav6771 u mad bro? lol

  • I recently started watching this show and I LOVE IT!!

  • Hes not the guy who runs the channel hes rick from pawn stars a tv show on history channel so he prob knows what hes talking about

  • wow what a dick, he thinks his viewers will spill nitric acid all over themselves? Just because it is dangerous doesnt mean you have to avoid it like the plague.

  • i thinks thats how uncle bob went

  • White? iv never seen this, the acid i use is red in color, if it turns green its not silver if it stays red its silver.. hope he is not trying to fool any one here

  • @LeoGoldSilverMan then u must have fake nitric acid...u know theres a way to tell if ur nitric acid is fake or not...u put nitric acid on it, and if it turns white, its........

  • @LeoGoldSilverMan I have white and red acid. white one to me works better. It does turn milky. or u can just use 10,14,18kt gold acid combined. will also turn milky. He's not foolin u

  • the difference between real and Fake is all real items have the words Sterling on the bottem fakes don't if you are going to pawn your silver make sure it has a foundery mark on it because pawn shops never take anything made of bass.

  • @geomodelrailroader Things made of bass tend to stink after awhile.

  • @kp13822 it is a typo I meant to say brass pawn shops don't take brass because brass is crappy copper metal and it is electoplatted to look like silver, gold,or chrome since you need to stick brass in acid to plate it once it is in the acid it will turn green and start to rust to remove the rust and plate it they run 12,thousand volts through it to make it look like it is silver or gold but once it comes to a pawn shop and they stick the acid on it the item automatically rust because of the acid.

  • @kp13822 LOL, especially after 3 days.

  • The background music is so annoying, used on every crappy reality show that E! does. And this genius just wasted two minutes of your life with his pathetic pawn shop tutorial.

  • @AntiStalinist lol its history channel you fail jew

  • wats the whole point and doing a test if you ruined the value of it wen u put this acid on it

  • @diego19917633 When you're melting silver, the acid test is nothing.

  • guy walks in with a gun

robber "give me all your money"

rick "i dont really know if my life is worth that much, let me call my buddy who works at the police station and we will bring him down her to negotiate,

    robber "ok"

  • doesnt making marks and filing down things that are actually expensive take away from the overall value if someone notices these marks?

  • @heyheyparty Most of the silver stuff a pawn shop buys goes to a refiner. It gets melted down and purified anyway. The fake stuff goes home with the guy who brought it in and isn't worth anything to begin with.

  • how can you check chains and jewellery they cant be plated so good that you cant tell, how can you tell stainless steel from silver, theyre really similar

  • @Wtown06tt He just told you how. And that was a grammar train wreck.

  • the losers too cheap to do it on real silver.

  • nitric acid is not that dangerous.

  • No eye protection?

Let the drop run down the piece and leave a big acid trail

I would have filed in near the very middle.

  • xD oh shit i sold my friend a tea cup for 100 bucks!!! lmao dont show him this

  • the item had (E.P.) on the base meaning electro plate, EPNS, Is another mark used meaning electro plated nicol silver, Know your marks, and leave the acid to the hippies, its dangerous stuff...

    Thom in Scotland.

  • it turns white when aqua regia aka 18k gold testing acid. Nitric acid will turn silver blood red

  • @MasterCharles69 Only if it is mixed with muriatic acid.

  • @WurledPeas duh, 18k testing acid is nitric acid, muriatic acid with 25% water to make it a weak aqua regia. aqua regia is always a link between hcl and nitrogen molecules

  • @MasterCharles69 ps: I teach metal refining chemistry

  • @MasterCharles69 How special. Too bad we aren't talking about gold and straight nitric acid turns silver(the subject at hand) white, huh?

  • i got a creamy white spot somewhere else

  • @LtBitter Do go on!

  • @LtBitter creamy white can also be lead

  • a10fjet he has to do that for legal reasons. hes not a dick he was told to do that.

  • how much do you want for it ?

    ehmmmm 5000 ?

yeaaa nott gonna happen, i give you 50 bucks

    come on man 1000 ?

i give you 100 and thats a shot in the dark man not a penny more

    ehhhh oke

alright lets do some paperwork i meet u over there

  • @IceClimberss Lmao!

  • lol, my mother's is copper XD

  • @IsTheRoss SP is silver plated so its not real sorry :(

  • I don't trust the Nitric Acid, I want that guy from the Clark County Museum to check if it is real or not.

  • So i have a silver chain, it says italy 925, wht can i do with that

  • @netflix1993 save it and get a bunch together and sell it one silver chain aint worth much..

  • @netflix1993 thats good silver. weigh it. silver is at $40 an ounce

  • my last name is sterling chu cing

  • my last names sterling chu ching

  • the nitric acid he has was like 0.1 molar it's not dangerous at all. You would have a minute or more to wash it off before it did any damage.

  • well, its called gold & silver pawn shop

  • Good info. Thanks!

  • my grandma's silver set is all pure. worth thousands

  • @arobbie1997 ok.

  • Hehe... creamy white spot.

  • But what about that huge gouge you just put in my $300 silver vase?

  • @shadowscion "Well, you see, I'm gonna have to re-sell this and who wants gouged up, acid stained silver? I can give you $10 for it."

  • @RWT683 Lol

  • I find stuff like this interesting. Too bad the actual show is starting to get boring.

They need to do something to bring back the old spark.

  • @massmurder7 shame he isn't an expert in usernames cause you need help.

  • @houseofaction poor idiots like you would know I'm sure as you probably have had to buy the type of scrap silver that pawn shops like Rick's sell that is destroyed in some places.

  • Another way to learn how to tell the real from the fake is to do the Scrap4treasure program. Besides there's more pure silver in old electronic parts just waiting to be had.

  • dude i would get that nitric acid shit all over me

  • @TheBlitz1 fuckin lol

  • Thanks for the highest rated comment, btw now 13 Gradmas found out the silver is fake, probably more.

  • Don't do what this idiot in the test is doing and put the nitric acid directly on the silver. It will leave a permanent stain that can't be removed. Highly doubt that he was able to resell that he was able to remove that permanent stain.

  • @jbarba your the idiot every pawn shop does this to test it. and i mean every

  • @jbarba hi thanks for the comment i dont know if its fake or not ive got a buddy hes an expert in comments ill have him come down and see if its true or not ok thanks

  • tRuE VS oLD junK.....

  • "Do not have this stuff at home -it can kill you."

So does this mean that stuff would kill "me" -but not you?

  • 92,5% is the same as 925. 925/1000

  • Go get a black testing grinding stone u retard!

  • @Agremen

pretty sure tht only works on gold,

    and they have one

  • Check out my GOT SILVER? shirts on ebay!!!

  • Seriously America? HALLMARKS!

Get with it, the rest of the civilised world has only been using them for the last couple hundred years.

  • @highlands Seriously highland America is the greatest, ricest & most militarily dominate country in the world and they didnt get that way by being stupid so stop showing your ignorance and think before you talk like any smart person in the world would do.

  • @MrHairyNutz

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic? I actually think America IS a great country but like the rest of the west and I'm especially thinking of my own country, we've lost our way a bit. Society seems focused on things that don't matter like celebrity culture instead of promoting the values that put us on top of the pile in the first place.

As far as the USA's military power goes- better them than Russia or China.

They should still check out hallmarking. Beats filing into it.

  • @highlands "the rest of the world has only been using them for the last couple hundred years"......... and the counterfeiters have only been using them a few weeks less than that.

  • I think the old man drinks while he is at his desk.

  • @TheGrandCapt yep, a lot of coffee

  • 9 people swallowed the acid

  • @turlockca209 and 1 person still uses this lame joke

  • great video thanks.

  • @SeptemberTwentyThird 2 weeks.

    Zero thumbs up.

    You're a winner!

  • Keep that acid away from chumley!

  • just heard that this guy passed away..car crash ffs

    R.I.P

  • @TheDpolenz where'd you hear that?

  • @underaserpentsun vegas radio..i dont think it has been anounced yet

  • @TheDpolenz Still hasn't been announced and Rick looks pretty good for a zombie.

  • That's great, but how do you convince someone who wants to sell Grandmas silver that you have to take a big ass file to it so you can test it? maybe you'd need to get them to sign a legal disclaimer giving you permission? Because you have to hack it, would this be a deal breaker most of the time?

  • Grandma you bitch, you;re a skank! lol

  • It says right on it Gorham EP which means electro plated

  • if you goto ebay chinese are selling sterling silver bracelets for just less than 2 dollars and those bracelets do say 925 printed on them and they charge only 5 dollars for shipping, i dont know how they are doing that.

  • I WOULD LIKE TO CALL MY BUDDY HES A AN EXPERT ON SILVER

  • @MrAlexdvir so, how do you know when you are dealing whit real silver? I did not catch that part. Can you tell me, pleas?

  • @MrAlexdvir HAHAHAHA!

  • @MrAlexdvir hes an expert on everything

  • i like the sound it makes when he files the silver

  • the acid test is also used on jewelery if its is metal it will tun its natural color fakes are plated if its fake the acid will eat the alloy and show whats under it

  • he tells us not to try this at home............but then he shows us how? :\

  • @spenjax1111 Its called covering your ass.

  • @BDBK666 lol

  • i love this guys intellegence!!!

  • 7 people are fakers

  • Also, some sterling jewerly doesn't say Sterling or .925 on it. One of my rings is sterling silver but it is not marked. But it has been tested and it is sterling.

  • 7 people found out they're grandma's silver is fake.

  • @AppleBoy153 lol

  • @AppleBoy153 wrong "their" genius.

  • @AppleBoy153 7 people realized my cocks the biggest evAR!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rick's head is like a bumpy cue ball.

  • they should do that to chum to see if he is real lol

  • He used a gold test solution. He should have used a silver test solution.

  • pawn stars shop is smaller than a bathroom. what a fucking joke there!

****VOTE UP IF YOU THINK SO TOO***

  • @chris102287 ur an idiot, its the size a warehouse, maybe a little smaller than a home depot, or lowes.

  • @chris102287 lol, what arte thou talking about, there storage room is the size of your stupid fucking apartment

  • @chris102287 Thumb this drip down if you have actually been inside the shop and see what a dumbass this guy is.

  • In light of these shows, I have recently started picking as a hobby. I have accumulated a nice amount of silver, most of which will be sold online. If i wanted to sell items to a pawn shop for some quick cash; would it better to polish them beforehand? Or would I be looking at getting the same amount of money either way. Thoughts from anyone with said experience?

  • ulyssesSKrunk has declared he is a dumbass

  • i like how he dosent do it on the real silver haha

  • he looks like a smart version of babycakes

  • @mrconradhoppe God IS Logical ,Faith in Atheism makes NO sense.

  • @curtiss123 dumbass

  • @mrconradhoppe hey Stpid Conrad. Why are you so dumb to argue against the very thing you say doesn't exist?

  • I'm made out of silver?

  • He said, "Drop the acid."

That cup had YC348. I wonder if that means it's 34.8% silver, and so there would be 65.2% copper.

I have a dish that says 665, and nothing else. Anybody know if that means 66.5% silver?

  • @Robert697 "YC348" and "665" sounds like serial numbers. Silver usually is stamped "750". "800", "835", "925" or "Sterling".

Older stuff from the 19th century sometimes is stamped "12" or "13". That's an old measurement for silver content based on 16 ("lot") parts for fine silver. So "12" means 12/16 = 75 percent and "13" means 13/16 = 81,3 percent silver.

But take care since often the real silver content of these "12" and "13" stamped pieces is much lower than it should be...

  • Omg Rick Is beast

  • A Dildo of 1865?

im gonna put in my ass who is expert in dildo's and he'll lets us know

  • The Holy Grail? I'am just not sure that would sell

  • @SerkantKnight It would be fun to watch someone bring it in, though, Rick would be like, "Let me call my friend who is Joseph of Arimathea's gigagreat nephew-in-law forty seven times removed. He know's all about this, and he'll be able to tell us if this thing is real."

  • To test for real silver just wipe your item with acid. If you see the image of a hand with the middle finger extended you know you've been screwed!!!!

  • @OfGodsServant To test density, you can use the formula D=m/v, so the density would be the mass of the bar (100oz) divided by the volume of the bar. You can just google the density of silver and if that number is the same as your results, it's genuine.

  • @OfGodsServant If it's solid, just check the density.

  • isnt that damaging the product though?

  • can't i just drill a hole in it and look for copper instead?

  • @9DragonMaster Ehhh if you intend to sell it you want little cosmetic damage.

  • Silver bullion is easy to test with this method. Good video!

  • ILL GIVE A 1.50 FOR THE SPOON

  • Yeah, i learn alot from him too, he's like a Dictionary of information. lol

  • its that guy from PORNSTARS

  • @gasdorf oh how original -_- dont ruin this video with stupid ass comments.

  • @austin7956 wanta buy some pawnstars coffee mugs and t-shirts this is the place ...90% gift shop these days

  • @gasdorf wtf? that had nothing to do with your previous comment

  • Smart guy!! i learn alot from him. Mahalo

  • He is a really smart guy.

  • How to tell if silver is real: make sure there is no test groove on the bottom

  • He used the 14k gold solution. It still works, but the silver testing solution turns bright red if silver is present and dark brown and dark green if negative for silver.

  • Rick has a particular gleem in his eye while talking about the "creamy white spot". The guy is a baffoon and a moron and a serial mad man because taunts Chumlee. In fact, they all taunt Chumlee. Shame be upon you Pawn Stars.

  • @MusketSniper I hope your kidding.

  • @xxMafia101 Calm down there Forrest!

  • @xxMafia101 This is to clarify that I'm not a mean person so listen up folks and you too Forrest ! Look at Chumlee's video "Fools Gold" and read what I'd written.

  • the groove is not tat big flatpat, but i got the test with in reaching distance, it wont realy kill u i dotn think ahha

  • Why is this show sooo good?

  • @sSanctum Because you learn more than watching bullshit like Jersey Shore.
