  • where did you get your stack kit? and how much was it?

  • badass

  • Hey how tall are your stacks?

  • Oh my god that truck sounds amazing......

  • looks good!

  • Good God i am so addicted to that sound.

  • @MrHellyeah2010 i know me too! haha

  • @700wildcat haha i never knew there were such things as good sounding diesel engines til I came across this video (im an aussie, we pretty much miss out on all these diesel big rigs). Now i wished i live in the US or Canada hehe.

I dunno if you're a diehard ford bloke, and maybe you've already found this video, but have a listen to this duramax mate, it's eargasmic! just wish he gave it a few big revs at the end. (Couldn't link it) - try searching 'aussie duramax stacks' (no pun intended!)

  • @MrHellyeah2010 yea im pretty much a ford diehard, im 15 and i already have my own ford diesel... 1985 Ford F250 6.9 IDI, yea that duramax in that vid really sounded cool like you said lol i like this powerstoke cuz it has that sorta buh buh buh buh buh... you know what im talkin about, and that duramax sounded sweet when the trubo spooled down lol

  • @700wildcat damn your lucky! i thought i had it good with extractors on my xe falcon haha.Yeah i got what u mean mate, powerstroke has that nice loping sorta sound. And yeah that duramax sounds like a sci-fi spaceship with its turbos I reckon. I honestly couldn't pick a favourite between that dmax and this powerstroke haha, both so good!

  • @MrHellyeah2010 haha yea no kiddin

  • @700wildcat oh yeah, that video is from a user called McChevy-something-or-other, and i think it's like 59 seconds long... i forgot to narrow down my desription for ya.

  • is it chipped?

  • Oh LISTEN TO IT! So GOOD!!!!!!!! Lumpy idle, mean snarl and and blow valves whooshing on lift off. Just so damn nice!

  • @spicer94 Idk about melting but the stacks could interfere with the signal if you dont tune the antennas when they are near the stacks. If you put the antennas on, tune them, then put the stacks on it could fuck with your signal

  • i love when ppl put on these kind of pipes.... good job man

  • Damn thats such a nice sound. Ive got a friend with a 95 7.3L that is straight piped and dumps right before the back wheel on the passenger side. It sounds so sick but not as good as this.. Damn fine sound

  • Woah....sounds like a minotaur.

  • what do u have done to the truck?

  • not really anything, just some homemade mods to up the fuel pressure and oil pressure to the injectors. custom built air intake, custom built exhaust(now out the tailpipe), custom shiftkit, really no off the shelf performance parts. i'm at 270k all origonal and it pulls very well. not a race truck by any means but it holds its own against most guys

  • Nice stacks.. I have a silverado, and i don't expect it to be a race truck.. As long as she pulls good, and holds it's own, then I am a happy guy. I never got into that truck competition thing. You drive what you like.. I like the older power strokes better. I am not a fan of the new 6.0 that ford has out.. They dont seem too reliable, alot of problems it seems, and the old 7.3 powerstroke's seem to be a tough reliable motor!

  • yup, i am partial to ford diesel's but i cruise with friends driving other makes, the 6.0 makes some serious power but isnt nearly as reliable as the 7.3

  • Yeah, they should have stayed with the 7.3. Better motor in my opinion! Your truck sounds good too!

  • @CSXtrackworker oh yeah. the only reason ford changed the engine was because of emission standards. the 7.3 didnt meet the standard. the 6.0 meets the standard but they werent much of a motor. my cousin just bought one with the 6.0 and he's already had problems with the chip he put in it messing with the motor. my dad bought a 97 7.3 new and just gave it to me for my birthday and it has a bullydog tuner and 4" turbo back exhaust. i just saved enough for stacks so im gonna put 6" stacks on it.

  • @Dustpan04347 Yeah, I read about the emission's BS. The 6.0 could have been a great motor, but ford went to navistar after they had designed the motor and told them they had to add all this BS emission's control crap. A few people I know are haveing prob's still with there 6.0's. If I were to ever own a ford it would be a late 90's powerstroke with that nice body style they had. You can beat on a 7.3 and it will start up the next day asking for more, and this is comeing from a chevy guy!

  • @Dustpan04347 You will like the bully dog, I have it on my silverado and I am pleased with what it does for my truck. 5&6 inch stack's are the way to go. Anything bigger and it makes the exhaust not sound right. Post some vid's of your rig when you get it done!

  • @CSXtrackworker yeah i though 5 or 6 inchers would suffice. when i get it all decked out i'll put up a vid of her rollin' some coal.

  • @Dustpan04347 Cool man, sound's good. Keep me posted on the truck and the video!

  • @CSXtrackworker hey man. i got my stacks on. 6" turnouts. They look amazing. I should have a vid up soon. I'll have pics tomorrow. Message me and I'll send you my facebook so you can see em.

  • How do you do that kind of exhaust tail pipes out the bed?

  • an elbow installed under the bed to aim the pipe up. then a splitter in the bed to the bed rails with a 90 at the end of eeach pipe. then the stacks are intstalled

  • Nice Stacks!! Nice Sounds!!! Good Car!!!!!!!

  • thats shit sonds so sexii nice vid

  • bad fuckin truck man!

    GO FORD!!!

  • thanks.

  • obs's (94-97 7.3)should all have coustom tuned chips

6.0's should have coustom tuned sct

6.0's have way bigger injectors and also have bigger turbos and have an inter cooler

the 6.0's are basicly a whole diff. setup

btw-truck sounds good! what chip do yyou have?

personally i have a tony wild mane and love it!!!

  • custom chips wont really do any good until you change the injectors on the 94-97 trucks. they are not capable of flowing any fuel to speak of. technicly the 6.0 turbo is smaller than the 7.3. the 6.0 and 7.3 run the same styled system. similar but different. its still a heui injection system just a little more modernized and higher fuel flow rates then the 7.3 can produce. tw makes awesome tunes for the 94-97 trucks but i am getting a php after i swap sticks i run a superchip and hillbilly mods

  • later 7.3s had intercoolers on them.

  • yup i know that, whats your point?

  • I was just replying to psd1995's comment, he didn't mention any intercooler on the 7.3 from what it look like

  • ah, ok, makes sense now

  • Comment removed

  • saks? smock? You need to learn english before you talk shit.

  • hmm, wish i got the chance to read what he said before he deleted it....

  • COOL

  • thanks

  • where did you get those stacks?

  • the pipe's themselves are grandrock's 170 bucks a peice for 6 inch by 36" long. the pipe in the bed is just 5 inch

  • I'm a Diesel man by heart. I love this stuff.

  • thanks!

  • hey joe, it's travis from FTE. i have been trying to figure this out, but i'm having no luck, why in the world does your truck only smoke from one pipe at a time? it switches between the two, wuts making it do that? truck sounds good by the way

  • it smokes from the passenger pipe first because its closer to the turbo due to the way i ran the pipes up from under the cab. if i stay on it the smoke is basicly even from both pipes.

  • OHHHH!!! haha. that makes sense now. that was bothering me, but i feel better now.

  • real nice bro

  • suggestion, ya want alot of smoke get SCT, plus if you put it on your truck, won't blow your tanny with the aggressive shifting

  • any tuner wont do me any good, the truck has stock injectors, it wont flow anymore fuel then what it currently does now. when i do get injectors i will be going with custom tunes for it. sct is overrated and overpriced. also, i have no trans issues, my shifts are crisp and clean

  • SCT man you dunno what you is missing, and you don't need bigger injectors, had a 07 powerstroke, 5inch stright pipe K&N and was running 14.9's with that sct all day long

  • the 6.0's have larger fuel flow capabilities then the old body styled 7.3's. my injectors max out at 98cc's of fuel, 99-03 7.3's flow 120 or better, i cant recall the 6.0's but the fuel rate vs the cubic inches of the motor let the stock injectors flow more then that of a 7.3. my pcm fuel pulse width is maxed in programming, my fuel pressure is maxxed, my high pressure oil is at its breaking point. i physicaly cant push any more fuel through my injectors.

  • i lold when i saw that comment

  • which comment? and about what?

  • the one about getting the SCT and smoking. obviously someone doesnt know there injectors and year codes! :P

AA/AOs suck :( 96cc's is definitely not enough

  • That sounds great. Can you a programmer on the 7.3L. Get it roaling some coal.

  • it rolls as much as it can right now, the stock injectors dont flow enough fuel. i can command as much fuel as i want but they wont flow it.

  • these older 7.3's have a sound all there own, especialy when you got a big pipe on them

  • yup, they sure do, the video doesnt do justice, it sounds real mean

  • basicly nothing, just redneck tuning

  • Sounds super sweet, good job!

  • whats done to it?
