  • great footage

  • It's called a blended wing-body aircraft. Boeing was working on one, but I think they cancelled the program to focus on the 787.

  • what would the effect be if commercial aircraft had flatter cabins that were much smaller and thinner and actually provided lift?i'm thinking less drag and kinetic heating. we could make them really thin where the pilots and passenger have to crawl inside. enough room to sit down but not to stand up.

  • @210482fmj No offense, but that sounds like a terrible idea. In the event of an emergency, how would you get 50+ passengers out of the cabin? Also, it wouldn't be good for claustrophobic people. xD

  • TY for showing Meadowlake! Cool place to fly. Love the cross wind between the buildings. Yeah...not.

  • RVs and Long-EZs. Can't beat that!

  • The canard (small wing) on the aircraft improves stall characteristics.

  • @kevinpedley

it's not totaly exact: the canard on jet fighter yes, on the cozy it's the elevation control, the only improving on the rutan is that the canard stall before the main wing, this drop the nose down and remain fast the control

  • whats the advantage of switching the planes wing set up?

  • TheWisey,Yes, you need a pilots license to fly these. How much they are depends on what engine you use and what type of avionics you want. Between $75,000 to over 100K or more.

AtlRCFFlyer, I believe the aircraft is a Van's RV.

BTW, I wouldn't recomment this type of aircraft to a low time pilot and neither would your insurance company!!!

  • do you neeed a licence to fly these also how much are they?

  • @TheWisey1234 You can pretty much think of those planes as being like fighters.

  • Is the other one a Zenith 601?

  • @ATLRCFlyer , yes it is a 601HD.

  • Very nice footage

  • @hepr99 -wish someone would've answered your question on here

  • kind of retard in 1:07

  • @33049156 LMFAO! i read your comment before i started the video, and i so was not expecting THAT! LOL too funny!

  • @jvillan85 Watching the plane next to you is the opposite of dangerous, to fly formation its more safe to watch the other aircraft than in front of you because if you stop looking at that aircraft, you dont know where it is and youre at huge risk for midair collision. If you keep that aircraft in your eye you can also generally tell your attitude and altitude enough to be safe.

  • @jvillan85 he looks like one of the star wars character

  • DUDE! I've seen that aircraft before in norway!!

  • very cool ;)

  • Congratulations!!

  • I miss songs like this.. =/

  • I love the Long Eze, and the Berkut (not in this vid). We need a lightweight, inexpensive and reliable retractable landing gear system for use on the home-builts.

  • Nicely done! Great Vid and will have to add it to my Aviation collection...

  • sorry for my ignorance, but I would have chance to land it without power, like as the other convencional aircrafts?

  • You did a nice job on the video.

  • cool video

  • i have a cuz who built a Dragonfly from plans...then finished building a Velocity and we rode in it a couple times...nice airplane...I put a vid of us flying over Travolta's place in Florida...nice 707 :)

  • looks so unstable but it just works.

  • looks right flies right, you just know nothing about aircraft.

  • Oh go fuck your granny. I was complementing the inventor for making something no one else has thaught of.

"The horizontal tail of a plane allows the weight to move forward and aft more while remaining stable and controllable"

Just go back to hereeve you came from douchebag.

  • what in the hell are you mumbling about?

  • Awesome

  • What the f is the song

  • Josh Jopling Group - Camera One (see description) Great song btw.

  • Thx dude

  • The Cozy III shown at :22 is flying today and has 300-400 hours on it already.

  • i tried to land th is shit in a simulator...you have to wake the f up

  • ah, fudge..its just a bunch of honey combed epoxy

  • ah, shit this music means I haven't fought Michael downtown in business yet.

  • i love this video.. i want to learn how to fly soon. I'm a nurse and i'm saving for this...

  • I love flying things but it is better to make them electric and to take the electric power from the sun you can fly all day with that electric power and is mutch more safe a small electric plane is cool

  • So ah... do you happen to have some panels and batteries that are effiencient enough to fit on and in a small plane? Didn't think so. And it wouldn't be any safer than an ICE engine I don't think.

  • Yes but people must find a way to a ease fly safer and fun ^^

  • fly all day, electric airplanes have a very limited flight endurance. And solar panels can't charge the batteries fast enough to keep you in the air that long.

  • Pipistrel makes a self launching 2 seat Electric Glider called the "taurus Electro"

1 hour of engine time, 41/1 glide ratio, 2 hours to recharge. That is the only one in the world so far.

but they are working on complete wing solar panels... who knows, only time will tell....

  • Beautiful! I am hoping to start my Long EZ in the next year.

  • Very nice professional standard camera work. Lovely edit too.

  • Nice way to start my morning thanks, I guess it would be a cool way to go!

  • This is a great clip. Thanks very much for all the time and work it took to put it together. Really great video

  • Thanks for posting this video.

  • its videos like these that make you want to be even more of a pilot than before.

P.s the sweped planes brand is called velocity. velocity is 1 of a kind plane brand. check em out!!

  • That's not true. I believe there was a shot of a Cozy (possibly a Velocity) in the very beginning, but the two aircraft flying throughout the duration of the video was a Varieze and a Long EZ. They were designed by Burt Rutan. The Velocity and/or Cozy are based on enlarging these airplanes (Cozy and Velocity are larger inside and use a much larger engine)

  • Wasn't John Denver killed in one of these things?

  • @modelleg Yes long ez,,,,,fuel starvation problem after take off.pilot error ...nothing to do with the safety of the aircraft

  • very well done video. Long Eze has to be one of the photogenic aircraft. thanks

  • i go to falcon high school and i think i've seen some of these several times and have always wondered what it was

pretty cool i think i saw my house at 1:54 too

  • Great video! I just purchased a Long-ez two weeks ago. In the process of getting a few things upgraded, can't sleep at night until I get checked out in her! Next time you fly up and around Montana, stop by in Helena!

    Have a great Spring!

    BLUE SKY

  • i took off at that same airport how peculiar haha it's so fun

  • Looks like alot of fun...

    form another experimental flyer here.

    zenith 801

  • Thanks for this If you have more movies with Long Ez (one of my favourite airplane) dont be "shy" and post it Thanks.
