LOVED this show since it started when I was a kid, borrowed all seasons from library and thanks to youtube I can see the movies/ending. All the (good) characters are so likable. But sometimes I have trouble wrapping my simple mind around who's related to who. =___=

This show was inspired by a real "pretender" named Ferdinand Waldo Demara btw.

@JOSIAO123: the fourth season has only 20 episodes and there is no 5th season but the first movie (the pretender 2001) started where the fourth season ended^^

and after both movies the series has finished (no correct ending, but there won´t be a sequel)

Yes, there's a cut. When Miss Parker picks up the clown Pez dispenser, she takes time to read the post-it-note on it: "MISS P SORRY I MISSED YOU. J." Then the phone rings, she picks it up.

Miss P: "What?!"

Jarod: "You've been chasing me for five years, why don't you just leave me alone?"

Miss P: "You know that's not the way it is. My job is to catch and return you to The Centre."

Watched 1st 2 seasons less than a month ago, and watched 3, 4, and first TV movie in the past 3 days. I'll tell you as much as I've figured out as far as the families go. Jarod has a sister, Emily, a father known as Major Charles, a mother whom he almost met in the middle of the first season(along with his sister Emily but was stopped because of the centre), and he's found out that Major Charles' sperm was sent from Neugenesis to the Centre.

As a young boy, maybe between 12 & 15, Mr. Raines took him from the center to meet with Catherine Parker after she had supposedly been murdered or committed suicide in the elevator in the Centre(faking her own death because of...Mirage). Mirage, as far as I can tell, is just a code name for Ethan who is Jarod & Miss Parker's half brother fathered by Major Charles's sperm and Catherine Parker's womb.

In the last movie, Alex tells Miss Parker that Mr. Parker isn't her father, and at the very end of it, Mr. Raines sends an email with a pic of Jarod's mother and Catherine Parker to Miss Parker and Jarod simultaneously. They don't know who it's from, and they're confounded by it. Then, it cuts to Mr. Raines saying, 'now we're even my children, god speed" or something like that. He's implying that Jarod and Miss Parker are his children in some way, though, it's unclear at this point to me.

Alex also told Jarod toward the end of the last movie that the center doesn't want him back to be a pretender. Then, he asks him if he's seen his mother. Jarod tells him no, and Alex wishes him good luck and says that 'they'll never let you see her.' Jarod didn't know what he meant, at the time, and neither do I. I guess I'm just going to have to wait and find out.

I've never seen the last tv movie. I think, before I continue watching it, I'll think on all this information and what it means just to see if I can piece together the connections from the availiable data based on motivations of the characters. My suspicion is that Catherine was a brood mare like Brigette, and btw, what happened to the baby? What happened to it what I suspect happened to Ethan and Mr. Lyle from what we already know. It's been given to foster parents.

Mr. Parker keeps telling Miss Parker that Jarod is the key, and I think he is. I think Jarod, Miss Parker, and Ethan are more closely related than previously thought. I think Catherine Parker gave birth to Jarod, and I think he was adopted by Major Charles and Jarod's mother he's been told about. I think Raines is the father of all 4: Jarod, Ethan, Miss Parker, and Mr. Lyle. I think that's the reason why Mr. Parker wanted to have a child so much...He had no biological heir to the centre.

Mr. Parker has been playing Miss Parker and Mr. Lyle as place holders to keep him as head of the centre, and he knew that Mr. Raines was planning a coupe, and that's the reason why he hooked up with Brigitte. Jarod's the key because he's Raines's eldest son whom control of the center would be given to in the event Raines successfully initiated the coup and lost his life. I guess...beats the hell out of me really.
