  • It feels like fate that I discovered this clip on the first day I ever held a baby.

  • Love the movie. Awesome soundtrack. Love this moment. I don't want to cheapen the moment also, but someones gotta say it... this guy is so very very fit.

  • perfect editing and choice of music

  • F*** the soundtrack is soooo good.

  • @AceofTunes

    i couldnt agree more

  • @whenirunthecountry lol it truly is a thing of beauty.

oh, it's flaco3188, btw, just forgot my password so I made a new name

  • No matter how many times I watch this movie, it always has the same effect. It instills a sense of wonder.. a sense of how fragile and new things can seem to be. It makes me think of the unknown, of the future. It's an uncertainty, but at the very same time, you look forward to it. It's the same feeling you get when you hold someone else's baby. Your mind races.. It raises so many questions about life, existence, warmth, uncertainty, and mostly yourself and where you stand in the universe..

  • @flaco3188 very wellput and I couldn't agree more

  • one of my favourite films and this clip always has the same effect Awwwwww

  • Honestly?...I think John Cusack is actually cuter than the baby . Just look at how precious he is with those droopy brown eyes!

  • After watching that gunfight scene, I half expected for the baby to start shooting grenades as John used him to fight off dual-machine gun wielding maniacs.

  • The Actress playing "Amy" is actually John's sister in real life, Ann Cusack. One of the waiters in the movie is John, Joan and Ann's older brother Bill Cusack. the whole Cusack clan are actors. How cool is that?

  • Shockabuku!

  • I was gonna say the same thing as TheWoodlandBerry, John Cusak is my favorite actor and this music plays in perfectly. :]

  • this scene with this music = ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.

  • omg.....that baby is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frikking CUUUUTE!! xD <3

  • Amazing shakabuku/epiphany/ah-ha. Mine was a kid reaching for my hand when I couldn't have expected it any less. I was taking a bunch of them on a worm hunt at camp. My blood pressure must have dropped 50 points.

Now that I've got a family, I revisit it non-stop. Looking into babies' eyes while they look back can't be beat.

  • John Cusack + cute baby + Bowie + Freddy Mercury = Soooooooo Awesome, do the Math !!!!!!!

  • John Cusack + cute baby + Bowie + Freddy Mercury = Soooooooo Awesome do the Math !!!!!!!

  • Shakabuku moments don't get much better.

  • Haha I dont know which ones cuter.

  • Love John's expression(:

  • I always thought that this scene represented the shokabuku for John Cusacks character that Minnie Drivers character was talking about earlier in the film.

  • My favorite response to the question "How's life?"

    "In progress"

(Sorry John, I've borrowed that for the past 10 years now, and will continue to use it as long as I'm "in progress")

    :o)

  • I don't know what it is about that scene, but I could watch that scene over and over. The song is excellent, the baby is so cute, and there is something about Martin's "in progress" response to her question about how his life is going that makes you realize that he is really looking to change his life.

  • WHY IS THIS MOVIE NOT CONSIDERED TOP 10 OF THE 90'S AT LEAST!???? shouldve got a best picture nomination or best actor at least!. film at its finest!

  • Because people are damn stupid! How anyone can watch this and not consider it a classic is beyond me!

  • That actress is John's sister

  • John Cusack is actually my future husband - just said id throw that in there :)

What is the name of this song i fockin LOVE it and John of course ;)

  • The song: "Under Pressure" by Queen w/ David Bowie

  • that baby is so adorable .Ilove when he wiggles his nose

  • John Cusack is such an underrated actor

  • crap, I hit down instead of up, sorry, I do agree, he is a massively underated actor, sorry for the thumbs down again, I am just stupid

  • watch how when she is handing him the baby it is facing her but all of a sudden facing him without him turning it.

  • You are wrong, watch the scene again the baby DOES turn his head to face him right away.

  • Watch it again. as she first stars to hand him to cusack the baby is facing her and the babys back is facing Cusack.

She doesn't turn the baby to face him but in all of a sudden the baby is indeed facing him.

  • What is this song?

  • "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie. It marked Queen's first released collaboration with another recording artist, and is featured on their 1982 album Hot Space. The song was a hit at the time, reaching #1 on the UK Singles Chart.

The song is remembered for its distinct bassline, which was sampled in 1990 by Vanilla Ice in his most popular hit, "Ice Ice Baby".

  • Thanks!

  • You must like the movie alot, too. I think this is one of the best scenes. I used parts of it in a 2-minute trailer that I might post later.

  • lookit his reaction to the baby haha
