Thank you. I have no problems running passenger cars or Lionel wheels including conventional engines on Scaletrax. The only time you may get a light flicker is when the pick up rollers are traveling over a switch, which happens on all brands of switches. Hope this helps.
I love how your track looks, I am in fact looking to build a permanent layout and even though I like the look of scaletrax I am afraid that the thiner center rail wont be provide a good connection for the passenger cars lights and they will turn on and off all around the track (which I hate), can you tell me in your experience if I am wrong? also can you run conventional Lionel cars on scaletrax without problems? in other words do the Lionel regular wheels run on scaletrax? Thank you
hay I don't model in o scale, so i was wondering with such a beautiful layout, with exquisite detail. Why the three rails instead of the much more realistic two rail, is there some advantage to using it?
Thank you for the kind comments. I use 3 rail track for several reasons. First is that I already had a lot of 3 rail engines to start off with, 2nd is that there is much more motive power to choose from in 3 rail than 2 rail and lastly operationally it is easier to wire up electrically plus the extra outside rail lets you use it for signal blocks etc.

Who makes the engine house at 2:55?
Weiberts 2 years ago
IHC made the engine house. It is just like the one now offered by Atlas.

Beautiful locomotive! Are you going to buy a vision line steamer?
Weiberts 2 years ago
No, I'm not modeling PRR or ATSF

That's a great engine and one of my favorites. What a smoker! Al have you found a limit to the number of cars it will pull?
WaukarusaKid 3 years ago
No not yet. I am going to see how many cars I can fit & pull on my 1st level of track. I'll post results.

It's not as close as it appears in the video I have plenty of clearance from that signal tower.
Regarding a flat car w/ cam setup, I plan to do some later on when more of the layout is finished. Thanks for the great comments.
