Just to make my previous comment clear to those who'd be willing to read it in their homophobic veins: I'm not saying that lesbians are not "consistent, able to expose [their] position, and mature"; rather, those who are in the closet by definition assume that they cannot expose their own position. All the members of the board have a position on this, and if they don't come out and say it, perhaps they fear that their support might mistake them for gay.

How embarrasing for the school board president. She doesn't even have the courage to speak her convictions.
That 12 year old boy gave a speech which was 100 times more powerful. He showed amazing courage to speak his mind and say that he is gay; and to speak out against gay bullying.
What an amazing young man and what an inspiring speech he gave. Shame on the feeble response of the School Board and its unwillingness to support gay students and teachers who stand up for their basic rights against bigots and bullies.

Republicans in Congress ARE the ones who have consistently opposed all rights for gays. Check it out. Pretty clear this is an extremist School Board that sanctions racial and gender bullying. It's a good thing now that globally everyone knows what type of loser school this is. And a new gay young icon is born. Hope Ellen or /and Oprah picks this up.
