ya should get the kp3 instead... they're pretty cheap now... just run your guitar into the mic input from whatever you want.. Run the kaoss to your speakers and you're ready to go..

the best effect for guitar on the kp3 in my opinion is the delay 7

it's a true-bypass loop. you plug an effects pedal with bad bypass into the send and return jacks of the pedal and then use the footswitch to turn the effect on or off. by doing this, you can ensure that your clean signal stays pure. you can also plug multiple pedals into the loop to create presets.

i have the same pad and really its only good if u take the time to learn exactly what you need to do with certain effects, and it needt to be used conservatively, not just hitting random shit like this, and it can add an awesme edge to your playing

i've heard that if you put the output through the mini kp's headphone out you don't lose so much volume. haven't tested this though, don't own one of the fuckers.

innovative use of DJ gear. I find the kaoss pads a bit bad as stand-alone effects to be honest though. The beauty in them is the movement of their effects. It sucks when something isn't sequenced and you're trying to quickly gain an extra hand to push that kp pad.

Looks like its just auxilary cables with a guitar jack adapter. Fairly simple and effective. Altho, you do need an amped up effects loop, (the apparent db loss) which can be done either how he's done it with a gain adjuster (mxr gain pedal will do) or go via your inbult amp loop, usually has a dB increaser. My marshall has this - Valvstate 8080

I have been using a boss overdrive pedal to balance the levels as my bass runs through the mini kp which helps, but the volume jump still isn't perfect and the tone is way off.

Should I invest in the overdrive pedal you are using or something similar, any ideas for a good quality clean overdrivevpedal suitable for the tone an electric bass?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

you'd be better off just using velcro or something and attaching the minikp to your axe either behind the bridge or on the upper or lower horn. putting the whole minikp IN the guitar just wouldn't really work. you'd have to take a massive hunk of wood from the guitar.

you can get an xy pad and mount that in/on the guitar (a la muse) and have that run off of a kaoss pad (what duder does in muse) or minikp.

overall, i'd say what this guy is doing is one of the better setups with the kp.

Yes a boss rc-2(looper) loops Your signal. An fx loop simply cuts pedals in and out of the signal.
