@donovan9288djn the leather in the new highlander is better than the pilots though cause i got to see a pilot and my mom has a 2009 highlander sport it is just so comfortable.
Nice! I have a Highlander too, and it's a 2005. The only differences are that the one I have has a V6 engine, and an automatic-adjusting driver seat. I love driving it!
Huh. My friend has one of these, but his has the V6, and I thought they ONLY came with a V6. I was surprised to see that tiny little 4-cylinder in the engine bay.
i love toyota's. they are great on gas and very reliable. i used to have a 1992 corolla for 4 years and i only had one issue and it was the starter selenoid. it also had 320,000 miles.
I think my dad's thundra and mom's sienna were bought around this time, because they a very similar stero. Speaking of which i'll probably get a new highlander next year and i'll complete the toyota family lol.
I was in my friend's Highlander every day for school last year, a black '04 with the same four-cylinder. Quiet car with a pretty good ride, but the engine was annoyingly buzzy and the exhaust didn't help much, which kinda ruined it. I'm interested to see if the V6 is any different in terms of noise, though.
@markkjay I have an '05 Highlander, which of course has the V6, and it rides pretty good. Even on the freeway going at least 65 MPH, the noise isn't anything unbearable.
@Adamv45 yeah it had low coolant, that was the problem LOL there's no leak or anything, it's good I found it though on the drive, that's the goal like I said, is to make them perfect before we sell them
@saabkyle04 the temp gauge should never get that high, low coolant or not. those 2.4s are NOTORIOUS for blown head gaskets, Google "toyota 2.4 blown" if you dont believe me. I own a highlander just like that, same year too, Ive got 110,000 miles on it, and I'm waiting for the day my head gasket goes. The actual problem is the cylinder head stud threads if you take it to the dealer, they replace the engine. There are thread inserts to fix it, which is what i'll prob do. This car has that problem.
@eye8owne8u do you know if all highlanders are 2.4s or is there a later model year when the head gasket was not a problem? Also, do you know if the same problem exist for 4runners? I am planning to buy a cuv/suv in the next couple of months. Think i'm getting the highlander, 4runner, or chevy tahoe. still trying to decide. any info is appreciated.
@DeMitch it appears as if the head gasket issue is with the 2az-fe (2.4 four cylinder) for around 2001 to 2004 & early 2005, and also with any other car that had that motor in it at the time, like the Camry or Rav 4, the Highlander did have the v6, 3.0 or 3.3 depending on the year, the 3.3 was later on. I own a 2.4, but I'd rather have the v6. It's been great so far, minus 2 water pumps within 25,000 miles, also a known issue, but I'm just waiting for my head issue. Not if, but when...
i know every square in. of this car cause i drove this car so much i put around 150,000 mi. on it i went to pa. to nyc. twice a weak so ofcoarse that will hapen it was my baby but then i sold it for 10k some drug dealer bought it cause its my baby so itll be clen and look brand new. so my point is tht this is a BUATIFUL car and it survies with over 100k mi
I like Toyota Highlander's, this one is in mint condition considering is mileage. I'm surprised that this vehicle power deliver is great for a 4 cylinder. Great test drive video.
It looks like it has a driver's floor mat from another vehicle (predrilled hole not fitting in the floor post, it looks too small and is sliding all over the place.) I guess a mat from a car with over 125,000 miles probbably has a heel hole and a seller would want to remove it, but I bet the dealer's lawer probably says don't put in a subsititute from another car.

@toyota4life94 That is not what I had stated. The gauge towards the end of the video is registering 3/4 which is too hot for any car to run!

@NissanDriver15 In 2001-2003, you had the option of the 2.4 L 4-cylinder, or the 3.3 L V6. Then, from 2004 to now, the V6 is standard.
