  • Is this based off the old ballad "Sir William's Ghost?" I'm going University research on it and two other connected poems and it seems based on a few stanzas. Is it your own version; as in, did you write the music and lyrics? It's beautiful, and if it is a version of that poem, it's a very interesting one!

  • Hi ladysyhoitta.. yes its a very interesting song that has many versions in the English folk tradition.. many of which went abroad especially to America and then came back altered as they do.. its like Chinese whispers.. this version I learnt from Maggie Boyle... I only changed a few words to suit my own intonation.. thanks for listening and dropping me a note.. Regards Mike
