The 8 year relationship, happy thus no need for marriage, makes a lot of sense when you (at least I) see dozens of couples who were together for 10 years then they marry and divorce the next year.
American and British humour is very different. Us Brits do have the BEST comedians, and it's one of the top things why I am proud to be British. God I love Jimmy Carr. He can cope with heckles, and tough crowds.
Godammit this says a lot about me as a human that i find these kind of jokes hilarious. Oh well, fuck the human race anyways. George Carlin & Jimmy Carr ftw :P
I don't understand the top comment. The audience were laughing along just fine, it's just the sound crew make it so the comedian is heard much louder than the crowd. They looked like they were pissing themselves!
people here in north america just dont appreciate british humor.
i have shown all of my comedy loving freinds people like jimmy carr, frankie boyle- and other great uk comedians- but they just dont get it.
its only the really hardcore comedy fans and other comics that find them funny, they just cant seem to do well with mainstream americans- the only one that seems to have ANY luck is gervais, and thats only because of the office...
I would like to point out that the Just For Laughs comedy festival has equipment that makes the laughter quieter in recorded footage, so that it doesnt overwhelm while on the television. The Montrealians (Is that what theyre called?) could be laughing really hard, we just dont hear it as much.
Can safely say that crowd was awful! I haven't seen one of his shows where the crowd has been so unsure whether to laugh or even bloody boo! Us British can laugh at ourselves and about p.c topics without thinking 'ooo that joke was a little bit offensive he said rape'
This is a very good crowd. It's best not to read other peoples comments before watching the video - and making similar lazy comments. That's called jumping the bandwagon. It's intellectually and culturally irresponsible.
Why is everyone criticising the crowd? I thought they seemed to laugh a lot and looks like they really enjoyed it. I reckon any slow bits are more to do with his unfamiliar accent and the fact that his material is pretty shocking! I think with that in mind, the audience were pretty in to him.
@1verseable I agree, I think it was because in the first minutes of his performance the crowd almost didn't react to some of his jokes and he seemed really surprised by that a couple of times.
Jimmy is one of our "stronger" comics and even here in the UK he gets the occasional sharp intake of breath. The audience in general seemed reasonably receptive but it says a lot for Jimmy that he's not fazed if the odd joke misses it's mark. I've seen brilliant American comics die on their feet in front of British audiences. I guess trying to make people laugh is a tough game. Thanks for posting this set.
@tonysuffolk Yes, I agree..i'm italian, and most of the people that I know, that know english well enough to understand jokes, well, they still don't like very mutch this kind of comedy..I just LOVE it..after Jimmy Carr, David Mitchell and Robert Webb, Sean Look and many others, well I find most of the italian comedians extremely predctable and dull.
@tonysuffolk I'm from the UK and I think it's just each country has a different sense of humor and we find different things funny... I mean in my opinion I think our comedy is the finest seeming as loads of our comedy shows have been remade in America. And I don't find any other country's comedy shows or Comedians funny. There is a few that i like like Russel Peters, Reginald D hunter and Rich hall.
@JaySmith91 This audience is from the Just for Laughs festival. Pretty much the shittiest crowd to perform for since they all want super safe, lame comedians who make silly observations about marriage like whether the toilet should be kept up or down. Joking about fucking children just doesn't go down well lol.
...While Canada is part of North America, and are considered "American" in a certain sense, I'm pretty sure that most of us over here identify people from the U.S. as "American" and people from Canada as "Canadian",the people in the audience were "Canadian"....and everyone was cracking up at his jokes,so why all the hate? Another thing, I might a=have missed it, but when the hell did Sweden come in to this? Why do videos of funny people attract ignroant racists trying to prove outdated opinions?
@XplosivCookie Yeah I can approve with that fact becasue I am half finnish and finnish people preatty much suck at english, so I don´t think they understand his jokes but I found him hillarious. (sorry for bad spelling (=)
In Montreal they have seen it and heard it all before, JFL in montreal is where all comedians aspire to perform. It's the #1 show in the world. And to be honest this wasn't Jimmy's best performance. And French Canadians can be tight wads sometimes.
its so weird, you know someone doesnt have any real problems when they boo about catholic priests.
like if your gay and he insults gay people sure your not a good sport but at least its like understandable, but who the fuck gives if he talks about catholic priests really shows u got no problems of your own and should be thankful for that and stfu.
