Ummm . . . I could always write 'em. I want Spielberg to re-do "Mysterious Island." which he's wanted to do since a kid. Picture the bitchen modern-day CGI creatures, plus the volcanic explosion (plus a kick-ass tsunami I've added!). And yeah, I've got a pretty good script that's true to the 1961 film (the original book, which appeared in weekly serialized form, really sucks, quite frankly).
I am surprised this hasn't been made into a movie or new TV series, the sho would be awesome. How did cack like Land Of The Lost make it and this didn't?
This should be revived as a film trilogy by either George Lucas or Steven Spielberg, or both. They could outdo Irwin Allen's original and at the same time respect it and give it much of the same feeling with today's cinematic technology. It's right up their alleys and, besides, they already have the great John Williams and his music.
This ALWAYS makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It really is a thrilling piece of music from the god-like John Williams. Superb! The key change at 0:29 adds to the rush. And yes, the cat noises are on the original, but they are quite low in the mix, and they've never been a problem for me, and I've listened to this many, many times. :D
I love Season Two also except for the cat noises at the beginning...it gets in the way of the music for me....was the cat noise in the original, or is this just some YouTube creativity?? The thing I like the best is all the percusion at the beginning, and the huge brass parts with the Flutes doing their trills over it all...what a genius John Williams is.
What do I think of the theme from Season Two? I think the FIRST one is better and more memorable. It seems to have a bit more measures, more going on.
THIS one--well it goes ahead and gets it done, but it isn't as fun or driving as the one for the first does.
I can't say I am a fan of this show. I recall it growing up in the 60s. I was about nine or so when it first came on. And god, I watched a lot of television. I do like the music though. John Williams made his impact.
I was a kid when this show was fresh in prime time. When this theme was on (I think Sunday evenings), I was practically electrified. It filled me with excitement, dread and fascination at the same time. I sat in front of the TV, demanded the rest of the family SHUT UP and let this romping suite signal another Little People adventure was about to begin.
Yes, this is even better than the season one theme, because it is totally original in content. To me, the year one theme kinda had a background element that made it sound similar to the theme to "The Time Tunnel" (another Williams theme).
Heaps. Best known perhaps is Lost in Space, but his TV involvement goes back to M Squad in the late 50s (when he was "Johnny" Williams). Dramatic jazz was his forte then.
Sadly, this brilliant theme music used for the credits in the second season of the show
is not also used in the latest repackaged season 2 dvd collection!

Sorry, @cesarpoa2001. This is indeed John Williams' theme. Courage wrote episodic music for the show, not the main title.

Thanks for the post.

For this show and Lost In Space, I liked the second theme version better than the first.

John Williams is the god of TV/movie scoring. Ever since I was a kid and such things became available, I bought all his vinyl!

Probably the best of all TV themes. Vastly better than the Season 1 theme. John Williams really outdid himself with this one.
