This is the markets solution to poor management and greedy executives. No company should be bailed out ever, regardless of how large it is. under free markets the good well managed succeed and most importantly the bad fail and make way for well managed smaller companies to provide what customers want. It is all very simple until you have government meddling in business.

I found out why/how this happened to American Airlines today. Rush Limbaugh explained on his radio show that this is all the Dems and Obama's fault.  I was quite surprised to hear that but if Rush said it, it must be true! Rush explained that Dems hate themselves & they hate America. I continued listening & Rush seemed to blame everything on Obama & Dems. He then talked about how honorable & honest 100% of the Republicans are. Pretty God damned strange IMHO.

It is called mis-management of funds and an inadequate budget! These organizations and corportations need to start putting an everyday hard ass working man in charge so this will never happen! The answer is for the major naitonal carriers to stop trying to compete on price and make air travel as expensive as it was prior to deregulation. Back in the day if you wanted to go on vacation you drove or took Greyhound, and both were just fine.

Chapter 11 bankruptcy for American Airlines Parent's company is going to create a "better airline in the long term". LMAO.

I've never heard anyone blatantly lying as an attempt to sell Chapter 11 as if it is not going to shut down a company, but it will create a better company, instead.
