I could write a book on why Germany lost, though she should not have. Boiled down to a few crucial points it goes like this:

1. Hitler should have left the war to the Generals (The US makes this mistake everyday). He had the best generals in the war.

2. Dunkirk: Hitler should have allowed Gudarian and Rommel to destory 325,000 British troops. Dunkirk wasnt a miracle rescue, it was Hitler's first huge mistake.

3. Russian Campaign: Attack 2 years later after Europe is solidified.

Yes. I watched Band of Brothers, a documentary by World War 2 leading historians Thomas "Tom" Hanks and Steven Spielberg. They credited Easy Company with victory.

Unfortunately a low quality army. They fought OK against French troops caught off guard and low quality colonial troops. However, when the USSR came, they were equaled. When the Americans came, the Germans were completely outclassed. See the Band of Brothers series to see Easy Company in action.

Thank you. Actually it was one country. The others were struggling against a second rate army. A small force came over from the US and settled the issue quickly. The big battle was the US vs Japan. The Us employed their big ships here. They had to.

I agree with you that the Germans did well in France. I think that they did not understand Blitzkrieg techniques. We all know the outcome when these techniques were applied at Bastogne. Easy Company stood firm, and Patton's mighty army counter attacked. SS or no SS, it was all blown away by US might.

The thing is that the Germans had only confronted easybeats like the English who retreated quickly and put in inferior colonial troops like the Rhodesians, Indians, New Zealanders and some locals protecting their countries like the Greeks. The Italians and Germans pursued these rag tag units all round the Mediterranian. The attack on Pearl Harbor ended that nonsense. The Americans quickly took over and the game was up for Germany.
