i love this cars !and your car looks great and stay with crome! iam thinking of getting one my self my dad had one he like it but he keep having problems with the ing coils going out ! it may have been from him going through car washes and the water shooting up in the coil or the fact he rarely drove the car. but if any one knows the reliiablity of this cars i would like to read more about them.
i live in germany and here only rich people drive jaguar. i mean, even if you buy on for only 5.000 it costs more then 2.000€ just for fixing one little scar
beautiful car, i have the 2001 s-type color is seafrost.. I anyone is thinking about getting one of these dont get 99-2002, get an 03 or better. they have the worst electrical and transmission problems.. i purchased mines last year for 8000 with 70000 miles on it.
I got the same car but with more like extras like chrome grill and chrome sides and chrome mirrors just more of those kinda stuff well the car is defintily excellent in driving i got the 4.0 v8 but it might cost ya a lil money for parts but nothing will happen that just means that the company is good but anyway nothin will happen it it unless you crazy drive it but its really nice i recomend it for anyone
I JUST GOT MINE TODAY I PUT RIMS ON IT AND CHROME GRILL AND things like you hav on the vid on the tail lights and lotta things and its a great car.I wonna kno who wants me to make a video of it message me
Agree, we have an 05, and although still under warranty, we've never had to take it in for anything. We're now on 42,000 miles and it drives like a new car.
Hey, I love your car! It's in great shape, you've taken well care of it. I am going to buy an S-Type, because I have heard that the X-Types are extremely unreliable. I've read a lot on the S-Types. Is that "Jaguar" name on the back left side added or stock? I've read also about the transmission problems people have had, which ends up costing thousands. Is that true? What will I expect about owning a S-Type? Thanks for your help, I can't wait to own one of these!
The 5 Series is a Bertone design, The body was styled by Marcello Gandini, based on the Bertone 1970 BMW Garmisch 2002ti Geneva show car. Gandini also did the Fiat 132 and Alfa Romeo Alfetta, two other cars that have a similar design.
For the prople who think the BMW is a pure design read this..Gruppo Bertone is an Italian automobile company, which has specialized in car styling, coachbuilding and manufacturing. Bertone styling is distinctive, with most cars having a strong "family resemblance" even if badged by different manufacturers. Bertone has styled cars for Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Ferrari, Fiat, Iso Rivolta, Lancia, Lamborghini, Mercedes Benz and Volvo Cars among others
my s-type randomly unlocks its self 10 seconds after i lock it so i have to stand there waiting 4 it to make its mind up on weather or not its going to stay locked , apart from that i absolutely love it
The S TYPE has a problem if you leave it in PARK MODE (Automatic cars) it tends to lock occasionally , I have been advised to leave My Jag in N (Neutral) and put the hand brake on.
I love jaguars myself, but I' d know a little better that the S-Type isnt the flag ship of Jaguar, thus diffiuclt to label it LEader...
If you really want to lead the way in automobiles why dont you get the Super V8, the XJR, or the NewXJ. I mean those will boost your ego way further than the S-type since I find the S-type a bit small in porportions though it does have the wow in horsepower.
Very nice example young man, and a good video too.
Just got a Gunmetal Grey S Type, it's a 2003 model 3.0 V6. It's my second one. I had a Radiance Red Stype 1999 model 3.0 V6 back in 2003. Great car with superb economy if you drive it with the cruise control on. I shall be posting some more videos of mine in due course.
I purchased this car 7 years ago and other than normal maintanence, I've never had any major problems with it. I drove it for daily for 5 years and it's still solid. Make sure you chage oil, brakes, tune ups and scheduled maint. and a lil TLC and just like any other car it will last. I keep it garaged now since I work from home and have another daily driver and only take it out for a 100 miles or so on the weekend. Buy one, you'll F*!%N love it.
@infleader I agree. I bought an 02 x type about 6 years ago with 35,000 miles. I've got 90,000 on it now and apart from changing the oil and air filter the car runs solid and no major trouble. I'm really sold on the quality of jags and I will probably be purchasing another one.
@touchtone101 i have worked at a jaguar dealership for a while...i can tell you right now that any jaguar pre 2010 will have tons of engine problems. especially S and X types. i dont know the exact problems because im not a mechanic but the 2011s are supposed to be very reliable. lots of electrical bugs are reported every week
man!! im busting my azz working 2 jobs trying to get this car.. i will finally have it by the summer time, in the color WHITE! but your car is a beauty i love that grey ....
Me too, I was originally going to go with blacked out like Prozspect0 says but then I decided to go chrome and I really think the look is what I really wanted. Maybe I'll go blacked out rims next year.
hey beautiful jag im getting a S type soon. how did you put the new head unit in without having a big gap left from the stock one? did you do it yourself or was it done proffesionally? thanks
Thanks for the comment. I personally think the music is awsome. Great music is in the ear of the listener, I think this is better music. For example, don't take offense but I checked out your vid and that "Tate London" vid did't really appeal to me. To me just sounded like a guy reading and talking into a mike, anyody can do what that guy did on the video. But that's cool if you like that stuff, personally, I'll pass on it.
Yeah, I definitely don't dislike the music on here. There's just other music I like more ,especially in car vids. The Tate Modern music isn't really what I listen too, I just thought it was cool when I was in London and trying to step out of my comfort zone.
well you don't customize it..because first it's just a Ford underneath...ohhh how prestigious with a 3.0L V6...you could have had a E38 7-Series maybe even with BMW's smooth a silk V12 for this money
Yes, but there's one thing your not considering. You not driving this, I am. You didn't buy it, I did. Last time I checked it was what I wanted and what makes me happy. I've owned BMW before, there great cars but in the end it's the Jags body lines that sets it apart from the rest. A car to some people is an extension of who they are, good or bad. You may not agree with what I've done but 99.5 percent of all youtubers can appreciate it. So I'll hop in my Jag and drive away now, I'll survive...
I do agree with you on that. Beamers are nice but they are no different looking than a Camry IMO. I prefer a unique style that stands out and looks great (stands test of time). The Aurora is a great example of this (look at my profile to see my "Now and Then" slideshow of my Aurora)
I'm thinking about selling the Aurora and getting either a V8 S-Type or an X-Type with AWD. Nice ride btw, don't listen to these losers who diss your ride!
And is that a bad thing? And to ruin your parade, the newer XF throws the CATS system into the trash and uses an all new steering system + Traction control system. See ya.
What's your point with that? Same chassis. New software. Big deal. A software firm anywhere can come up with new software and change the dynamics but the chassis is what makes it possible.
And is that a bad chassis? It's clearly been updated since the XF has the best handling in its class. It's also got a new differential and suspension components.

Love your car, it's sexy. Very unique, what model Jag is it? Looks better than the BMW 3 and 5 series, those are so common, everybody has one. Your Jag says "class".
Ya, why would I put those rims on my car? I don't know? Maybe I want to be "Different"!
