Oh, and while we're at it, does anyone know what the first track they were playing is? I have virtually every Plaid release ever and a lot of the unreleased mixes and stuff, and this is the only place I've heard it!
yes it's cool and warm (lot of people in a small place)if you like their sound.
you can find all of their show video in the last cd they did, optimized for 5.1 installation. but you can also think that good plaid stuff was made before
I guess I just don't see the point in going out of my way to see plaid specifically. But I know what you mean about cool and warm, and lots of people in a small place. I usually go to an underground club in Toronto (where I live) and just enjoy what the DJ is playing. Thanks for the reply.
It's definitely worth going. It's completely different from the CD. Contrary to popular belief, electronic musicians don't just hit "play" on their laptops and go have a cup of tea.

"performing" this kind of music is a joke...

This may be a bit late, but the first track is 'Even Spring' (the John Peel session version from 2003, obviously not that on 'Spokes').

I like plaid and other techno but have never seen any in concert. I have most of plaid's stuff on CD. Is it worth seeing them live?
