@surfhawaii08 I was just in Hawaii for 2 weeks. Believe it or not the water in Waimanalo Bay was NOT that much more clear than when i was in Ocean Grove NJ in July. The beaches in NJ aren't that bad at all in the Summer, just too crowded. There's plenty of surfers here that seem to have lot's of fun.

nah dude i live in nj i was like 12 when the waves came and i went out bodyboard got like real messed up but it was perfect waves. The water temp is about 75 degrees now and the storm came in late augaust i think so probably like close to 80 degrees because the water was coming from a hurricane which started down south

the water was most certainly not 80 degrees. when a hurricane comes up we get south winds. south winds move the gulf stream off shore (the thing in the ocean that brings warm water our way) in turn cooling the ocean massively. everyone knows the water gets colder from south winds dum dum.

and we hardly ever hit 80 degrees anyway, we need to be in a heat wave with no storms AT ALL going on in the atlantic... then we may get close..
