  • not bad for a car made in 1985....if a new car would perform like this (but with airbags) it would be 4 or 5 stars

  • @MrSaxosam meh, not really. the crush barrier and test speeds are different in the Euro Ncap and IIHS tests, but in this test the car actually held up pretty well, if you oversee the fact that the steering wheel slammed upwards (then the airbags wouldn't have worked) and that the compartment is somewhat buckled. another thing is that this car wouldn't stand a chance against a modern 2011 car

  • @stonee206 but the deformable steering column would be there too

  • ostro sie dosytało autku :(

  • Same as Saab 9000..........

  • @gerardxf And Lancia Thema.

  • watch?v=PJ2HB3k8N8Y

  • this framework was also used for the saab 9000. Lancia Dedra ,alfa 164

the crash results were normal for that period of time and ofcourse the later versions of saab and alfa had a strenghthened body

no fail for 1985 car in fact back then it was good, it had an outstanding side protection and anti intrusion bars in the doors when back then no german car had the ones of the 90's version had strenghthened front

  • @215alessio not Lancia Dedra but Lancia Thema

  • this is old car in high class, but if he would crashed with twingo or other light car, it woul preformed better

  • @tuner1967 youtube.com/watch?v=S4Rsqqyt7BU

  • driving a car is and will allwyays be a risk so better stay at home in your bed with protector and helmet ;)

  • This was at Very high speed, the old croma performed very good, try the same speed with a Kia or even a new skoda ....you will see what a mess

  • @cba2004 The test was performed at 56 Km/h.

  • the old fiat croma was a safe car... i'd like to know the speed rate of this croma...

  • @Mrmatteo08 The test was performed at 56 Km/h.

  • @Mrmatteo08 sorry but its not...

  • @jetblasttttttttttttt well, i've watched the crash test of volvo 760, and the result

isn't too much better than croma :D

  • @Mrmatteo08 ummm then you need glasses :D it doesnt crumble like the whole fiat does. you can see that the roof gets twisted in the fiat, and prolly the doors would be impossible to open. in volvo, you could walk out :P

  • @jetblasttttttttttttt if you watch the video of volvo 740 ( not 760, sorry ;P ), you

can see that the roof gets bended... the quality of fiat it isn't too much different than

other european cars... however, i get surprised by the worse fiat croma crash test, but i still believe that fiat croma is one of the best car!!!

P.S sorry for my bad english :D

  • @Mrmatteo08 hm i cant see any major bending. :D

  • @Mrmatteo08 Are you being serious or not?? The fiat has major structural failure, the dummy's head hits the dashboard, with the steering wheel almost ending up behind it's head. Based on the displacement of the dashboard, there will of been massive intrusion into the footwells, smashing feet/ankles/legs. The dam thing folded up like a wet box. The volvo 740 (watch?v=76IVVx2CuRQ) hit the wall, and did exactly what old volvos do. The front bent, but that's all.

  • It's a bad design, the same chassi as the Croma. The SAAB 9000 have high safety, just like MB W124 and BMW E34 and of course the bigger cars like MB W126 and BMW E32. So yes crash in a car designed in the eighties but chose a good one:)

  • @Stephan540i The difference, however, is that Saab had the decency to strengthen the body.

  • this car has 25 years.... nowadays are more safety

  • I'm no expert, but I dont think that scored vary high.

  • RIP :)

  • no chance
