It never ceases to amaze me that when a guitar company or distributer hires a professional player to demonstrate a guitar's tone and sound, that he will play as many notes in as little time as he humanly can which is all about him and NOT the guitar tone. Can any of us really sit and listen to anyone play like a speed demon for more than a few passages before we should expect them to play something other than what is called "Scambled Eggs". I get sick of scrambled eggs in a very short time.
@jackbad2 This was a store opening event where they invited Australia's fastest guitarist to perform - and this was the first time he'd picked up the Progression. This wasn't the only style or sample he played on that day, nor was it the only guitar. Thanks for your input though!
@OzDynamicMusic At "Marom Music" in Ramat Gan, Israel. I was there to check out the Musicman Petrucci signature, but the price was too damn high. Then I got a hold of the Progression and just fell for it's magic.
Mir gehen diese Highspeed-Techniker auf die Nerven. Kein Gefühl und nur undefinierbares Geschrammel. Die Gitarre ist geil, aber sicher auch für andere Musik zu gebrauchen.
@MartyMartin87 "Progression" is a relatively new model, and the name suggests it is a "Progression" from what you would expect from a single coil guitar. We A-B tested this guitar against THE most popular single coil guitar in the world & it ate it for breakfast! We had to have the Progression on "6" on the volume pot to get the same output tone as the 'other' guitar on 10... and that was in passive mode!
and um ah you um have the same like um 3 single coil pickups and um watch me shred! and it has a strap button and you um ah flick this switch here and Watch ME SHRED!!
@Dopaminergie You might want to listen to what Jeremy does. He's known as Australia's fastest guitarist (and one of the fastest in the world), so why would he do anything else in a clinic promoted as such?
@OzDynamicMusic Yes he is really fast and maybe one of the fastest I've ever seen but the tittle was to demonstrate a Godin. It's not a demonstration of the Progression but a demonstration of a really fast guitar player.
@Dopaminergie I understand what you mean, but he was demonstrating it within a clinic/shred demonstration where (as part of it) the Progression was officially launched in Australia. Sorry for the confusion! Watch this space for another demo he will be doing on the Progression & other models. ;-)
@OzDynamicMusic sorry if I've been a bit tough. I would not. Could Jeremy Barnes show us more ? He is talented of course, but so fast it's not easy to have a good grasp of what he plays. Too much speed kills the music.
@Dopaminergie We're hoping to have more of Jeremy demonstrating other Godin models (including the Progression) in the next week or so. Jeremy is proficent in Jazz, Country.. you name it... so he'll be able to show the full capabilities of the Godin models - and we're sure you will be impressed! :-)
@OzDynamicMusic I am impressed. I am sorry if my words have been rude. He talented for sure, but speed is not what I was willing to find in a video called "Jeremy Barnes demonstrates the new Godin Progression". It's maybe a misunderstanding from me. Jeremy has nothing to prove especially to me. He is a fantastic guitar player, I have no doubt.
WTF is this, what a horrible demo, if I wanted to shred I'd buy that Ingwie signature strat thing...

Why do you wank the neck like that? Impossible to listen to the sound with a bee sound.
