He didn't miss the first note. On Xbox Live, there is a lag in Rock Band 2 with guitar players, bass players, and drum players. It looks like he missed the first note, but you can see the multiplier circle fill up a little bit. Sometimes it happens on the Wii too.

Alot of the top drummers including BoWSan actually play drums, I did through my sophomore year in high school. So its not a lot of wannabes per say out there thinking because they can drum in a game they can drum in real life. On a side note tho the game doesnt leave very much margin for error or bieng off beat so these songs actually take some skill 2 play.
