horrible 1980s leo >shudders< shame about the somewhat dodgy landing on the last tumble diagonal. i love the music change after the aerial cartwheel - flip flip - layout. and the choreo is great to for that part :)

only deduction was the last pass, slightly sluggish into the front handspring step out. but IMO she had the best form out of anyone at these olympics. it pains me to see her beam on EF when i know she would have won

It really was!

I wish they would bring back the compulsories. I think they really helped to improve the overall form of the gymnasts - something that's much needed in today's generation of elite gymnasts.

I agree. Artisitry is lacking now-a-days in gymnastics.  Power is important too but gymnast seem to be much more creative before like Yang Bo, Svetlana Khorkina, etc.

Correction, Khorkina DID compete compulsories. Forgot about Atlanta.

Yes she did, last time compulsories were used were between 1993 - 96 and Khorkina competed.
