Boy Meets World is compared to Disney shows waaaaayyyyyyy too much these days. Everybody should realize that this came on ABC in primetime before it came on Disney. Kids of today can't even wrap their mind around that concept which is a shame because there once was a time back in the 90's that the major networks didn't just appeal to adults. It aimed at families which included everybody. Today's generation is just too used to the damn demographic aimed television. It's depressing
Mr Feeny was completely right, and Alan was a huge jerk for pointing out that Mr Feeny doesn't have a son and couldn't possibly understand the relationship of a father and child.
@Sshelly34213 Do you really think one failed test, matters more than even one more moment with a loved one? Granted Cory is just a child, and Alan isn't likely to die.. but what if the next day he did? I dare say that it wouldn't matter, if that single test qualified you for a prestigious college.
It was cruel of Alan to say what he said, but I can't agree that Feeny was completely right(especially as I get older and realize how much I miss my parents).
@Vynjira thats def your opinion but doesnt make the slightest bit of sense...your speaking like alan has cancer and could flake at anytime....period plain and simple...you could go so far pulling that "what if he died tomorrow" crap...alan woke cory up to watch tv....thats not an excuse buddy sorry i know its argueable....but it isnt right...come on now you know this...i like to be the one to challenge the odds but this one i cant wrap my brain around....
Mr. Feeny, makes my point in the next part. Education is not about obscure facts and little test scores. Education is about the overall effect of years of slow absorption of concepts, philosophies, approaches to problem solving. The whole process is so grand and all encompassing that it really can't be threatened by the occasional late night no hitter.
When you grow up a bit more, perhaps you'll learn to appreciate your parents more.
@Vynjira hahah wtf?? im 19 yrs old....Feeny changed his mind because he never got to spend time with his own father ect. ect. ect. this isnt rocket science. Goodbye.
@Vynjira I agree with you. When you're older you don't look back at the scores you got on tests or particularly how you did in school in general, but you do look back on the moments you had with your parents and what you learned in those instances from spending time with them. Just like Feeny, it's what, 50 years later and he's still remembering his father brushing him off, and in 50 years Cory will remember the night Alan got him out of bed to see the game together.
Alan was wrong for keeping Cory up late to watch a baseball game on a school night, but i think Mr. Feeny was wrong too because he would'nt let Cory make up the test.
they should re-release this classic meaningful Tvshows instead of filling this generations kids with now mindless cartoons and extremely idiotic so called comedy shows
eric suffered a head injury in season 2 when he is very confused when studying for the SATs and he walks in with a nose bleed after running into a tree off screen.
ahhh!! that explains a lot! Thanks!! :D Poor guy coulda ended up a normal jerk but became an adorable idiot....actually.....maybe the head injury was for the better! Hey!!
I am currently twenty-seven and just about (hopefully) to graduate college. I actually found myself in a situation much like Corey's, minus the dad helping to make it happen and failed a midterm in a class I hadn't learned much in yet anyway and now my only option is to try to make this class up next term. The great thing about the episode (as well as all TV) is that it only takes half an hour (and in some cases an hour) to fix.
Right and the show jumps shark with the BMW cast skipping 8 th and 9th grade, going right into 10th. Allowing them to graduate HS in season 5 and have two years of college. Not to mention Corey goes from normal boy to a spaz..a coring spaz though, Topanga goes from hippie to perfection and Shawn goes from maybe he is poor to a trailer. Not to mention Rachael, Jack, and Angela. Also Eric going from cool to odd ball, odd but with a good heart. Sry I love this show.
