Bit of an idiot to be admitting that you don't want to work and that you gladly take the workers tax money , do you know how easy it is to find out who you are ? all it takes is tracing your ip and the cops could be at your door for benefit fraud
As much as Biffo screwed the country up he's being pushed around by a scrawny little girl like Tubridy talking over him and interupting him. Biffo needs to grow a pair and be the most powerful man in the country that he is and take on the public sector, the unions, the farmers and other cunts lookin for handouts
they are still lying. wouldnt trust them as far as i could throw brian cowen and mary harney at the same time... now wouldnt that be a horrible way to die. to be crushed underneath them 2. automatic entry into heaven id say!
NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.
The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.
*YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, IDA, ISME, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Small Firms Association, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.
YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.
Pleasantly surprised at Tubbs. No holding back, really stuck it to him. "Lets not talk about where we f**ked up in the past. Lets just talk about how rosey it'll be in the future, blah blah waffle". NO. Take responsibility, like everyone has to. Reality. You fat pig farmer.
I don't think BIFFO is as bad in this vid as people make out. Having said that, Enda Kenny might even look statesmanlike when he gets in...no on second thoughts they're both mucksavages.
Brian Cowen "I believe it has to pass", this is worrying. Take a look at Lisbon posts on youtube 95% of the comments express a no vote. Brian Cowen has also mentioned he "will" bring a yes vote to Europe, again this is worrying.
If this goes ahead its got to be rigged.
When we vote and our government asks us to vote again because it doesn't like our answer lends it self to dictatorship.
Start now by saying NO to Lisbon and continue the fight to remove this Government.
RedOctoberFly - our corrupt politicians are already trying to force a yes vote through again by the very fact of holding a second referendum on Lisbon. How dare they! No means no. Can they not even understand that?
im actually starting to feel sorry for him...like there is all this bullshit about his personal life(eg. the 'drinking' issue) which is being used by the media to make him seem incapable of making any correct decisions..this was'nt all his fault.
no it wasnt his fault that he introduced something that will take all the loans out on the market and could be a huge risk to the population of ireland not his fault at all ....... it was the little fairies behind him its their fault
ya but has anyone come up with an alternative....the opposition like to rip nama but they don't have any answers either...i no its a risk but something has to be done....im just saying that cowen is getting blasted about everything...but in the good times all we wanted to hear was tax cuts and spending..and that is what bertie and co.(incl. cowen) did.
We are being offered nothing new for accepting this treaty the yes side is saying we will get to keep are chancellor but that is not giving us anything, we already have a chancellor and many of these so called reasons to vote yes and we will retain if we vote no so there not real reasons to vote yes
the guarantees are open to interpretation regardless what the yes side says and how can we trust them they would have sold the country out first time round if we had listened to them and how can we trust Europe to keep its word "THE IRISH VOTE WILL BE RESPECTED" well the fact we are voting again points to the fact they can not be trusted
Hi all please please please read the Lisbon treaty before you vote dont just vote yes because of scare mongering tactics and one sided adverts on the TV search the web for non a biased sites and then make a decision a yes vote will destroy this country there is a book by Naomi Klein called the shock doctrine its about these kinds of economic policies and there long term effects and how they can be packaged to a desperate public who otherwise would never accept such policies
Id like to see the whole panel of the parliment sitting on that stage and have each section questioned, esp finance, education and health, and let Ryan give them a grilling
all good points i know, i just think BC is a fairly honest guy and maybe i just dont like RT's style of interviewing and the wat he was badgering him and talking over him. By the way i'n not a FF supporter just a humanist - maybe its sympathy for the devil ha ha
Just because he is still our taoiseach does not mean he deserves respect. Why dont the staunch fianna fail supports get off whatever planet they are living on and realise the government is corrupt and are out for their own personal gain.
i think it was disrespectful he's still our taoiseach and he shud be given du respect. tubridy was playing to the crowd, whipping up the mob in the audience. what does tubridy care about the little man or the state of the country. he didnt care too much when he refused to take a paycut and had to be shamed into taking one! also golden rule of interviewing when you ask a question let the person answer it without interrupting. every ? he asked BC he interrupted when bc was attempting to ans
The state is spending more than 91.5million euro a year to accommodate 7000 asylum seekers, due to 7yr backlog. There are 14,131 'leave to remain' applicants whom the Justice Dept. describes as having 'unfounded' claims for asylum.
source: Irish Examiner 23/7/09
Meanwhile our health, education systems are breaking down and Irish people are being told to emigrate
i used to be afraid of the Lisbon Treaty and thought we'd loose our soul but the truth is fianna fail has been fucking us up the ass for too long and finne gael will just do the same, theyre all fat selfish politicians who will take us for a ride and need the EU to keep a leesh on them and tell them what to do.
Look what the EU has already done for us! the REPS scheme, CAP, CFP our infrastructure, the majority of our public growth has come from EU grants
Fuck the Lisbon Treaty part 2, we gave them there answer. WE WILL NOT LIVE UNDER A EUROPEAN FASCIST CONSTITUTION. I will defend to the death the IRISH CONSTITUTION like so many did not so long ago.
Just in responce to SverigeNorgeDanmark's comment-one parent familes will not be the hardest hit-they get more than anyone. They get houses for nothing, bills paid, allowances for everything the children need, medical cards...
This fat Cunt along with charlie macreevy and Bertie the crook Ahern are the reason why our country is going down the toilet ! these fuckers should be taken out at dawn and stood up against a wall and shot !!!
Vote yes to Lisbon and get 90 billion Euro of debt , get carbon , water , refuse taxes , cuts to schools , hospitals , the police , the list is endless , our nation has been destroyed by these useless bastards !
Although none of those things are mentioned in the treaty , they are waiting just around the corner , after the people are fooled/frightened in voting yes , all these bail outs and tax rises can be averted by a simple no vote , defeat for fianna fail will mean a long needed election ,
roll on the treaty , so we can all put the knife in fianna failure !
i read that Cowens advisers were furious with how he was 'treated' on the late late, well theyre obviously useless cunts, coz Tubs got him to speak frankly and honestly, which did him the world of good, he got a clap at the end, which mustve been the first clap he got since being voted in.
i agree he is doing a good job, making the tough decisions but i disagree that everyone takes the pain.a judge in ireland pays no tax,no levy, earns 200k plus and can claim 129 euro for dinner allowance, wheres d fairness in that?yes to lisbon and a BIG BIG NO TO NAMA. our children will suffer if NAMA goes ahead.
Cowan will do the job right if he's given a chance - we don't pay enough tax in relation to what we expect to get for our money- ppl point to countries like Denmark and Sweden arguing that they have excellent health care & well funded education systems - what ppl neglect to look at is the tax rate, reaching 59% in Sweden and 63% in Denmark.IRL rate of tax is on par with the US where the federal gov taxes 35% and local gov taxes 10% - a capitalist nation with no social health system to speak of!
NO... whats unfair is being led into the greatest recession this shit holes ever seen and then cutting health services which are BADLY needed. this country has gone down the toilet and fuck lisbon. if he wants it so it might get us out of trouble we should vote against it to fucking spite this fat Cowen clown.
Ryan, I think this is perhaps the most unprofessional interview I have ever seen in my life, I you had at least given Brian the opportunity to answer a questions you may have come accross credible, some questions u ask r completely inapropriate & could damage Ireland on an international stage, last thing this country needs. I think this interview shows your lack of experience dealing with celebrities & leaders of coutries. In my opinion I think you should issue a public applogy to Brian Cowen.
brian cowan always says that when it comes to the libon treaty, that we will be on the sidelines of the E.U. but we are in the E.U. and they cant change that.
Tubridy is a talentless hack, how dare he question the government expenditure during the boom years - what about his salary? a man of such apparent mediocre intelligence and with such poor personality skills doesnt deserve to be on TV during peak time on national TV. Terrible interview and a shame that the taoiseach couldnt handle these petty jibes and unlettered questions
so if you were being offered his salary you wouldn't take it?? if you were tubridy what would you have asked?? brill interview, as far as i can see & obviously by the audiences reaction the questions we wanted answered where asked, by all means everything you would want from a chat show host...if parky was interviewing him would he fanny foot round the big issues??? pat kenny maybe...but look where that got him!!
of course i'd take it - but wouldnt a minister take all the perks he was being offered like going to cannes? parky is a shite interviewer aswell. Tubridy kept interrupting cowen like some kind of 15 year old - just because the knackers who go to the show applauded doesn't mean anything - the irish people are a frivolous audience who would clap at someone slipping on a banana skin
The only problem I could see with the interview was that Cowan wasn't given long enough to answer the questions. He should have been allowed waffle on in his replies so people could see him for the buffoon he is. The writing for the Irish economy has been on the wall for a few years. When BC said nobody could have foreseen what happened he is wrong. Some people did see it coming, but they were ridiculed by Cowan and others as talking down the economy and being pessimists.
Whats all this fuss about the way Tubrity interviewed Cowan? Im not a big Tubrity fan but hes entitle to ask the questions he did! Cowan is a public servant elected by the people after all! The people of Ireland deserve answers to these questions! What makes Fianna Fail, Cowan or Bertie untouchable?
Tubridy asked the questions that had to be asked but when the next general election comes I'm voting them out . They'll bail out the banks alright but they let are eduction and health services suffer.Sure the schools cant even paper. The people who say tubridy was disrespectful are probably the same people who would vote that Government in for another term
Tubs was disrespectful... but you know... you have to EARN respect. Cowan has done nothing to earn the respect of his own party or the Irish nation. He openly admitted here he didn't see the downturn when every pundit on TV was telling us it was not IF but WHEN and that it would be really bad!
If they can gather this evidence then Cowan didn't bother. So if he knew nothing then...he knows nothing now... get out Brian...you are clueless!
Hmmmm.........Brian came across as a poor shop keeper, whose bank account has slipped into overdraft for too many days, being quizzed by an upstart smartarsed little nyuck fuckan bank official who was rushing to get off to the golf course, and had one more foreskin to snip before he sped off in his little 2 litre car. Is this how we govern ourselves? Bring back the Commonwealth.
Good inerview. Brian Cowen is a genuine guy with nothing but the welfare of the Irish people at heart.
Thought Tubs was absolutely disrespectful. Some cheek to be passing comments on ministers salaries & expenses. He needs to take a look at his own ridicolus salary paid for by the taxpayer - its about 3 times Brian Cowens!
tubridy is an idiot no respect for mr cowen he may have made alot of mistakes in the past and still more than likely is but he is the leader of the country and that interview was a joke disrespectful springs to mind
What no-one seems to realize here is the fact that the whole monetary system we're operating in is flawed. It's a fiat system people, the money the ECB is requested for print has no intrinsic value! So the more money they print & flood the market with, the less value the euro has - leading to INFLATION - which is coming our way due to NAMA. Cowen & Lenihan are not intentionally sabotaging the Irish, they just have no-clue about how money works - the same is happening in the states/EU etc....
Im no fan of Cowen or his party and believe they have completely mishandled the economy.Having said that the way this interview was contucted was an absolute disgrace.Accusing the Taoiseach of being a drunk.Even if you have no respect for the man respect the office. The Late Late is a national embarrassment watched by people with nothing better to do on a friday night.
I read about this interview in the paper and I didn't think this was a harsh interview at all. Ryan just didn't let him use the usual political tactics of question dodging or giving long answers so that fewer questions are asked. This interview actually improved my opinion of Cowen. I liked his straight answers and genuine sentiment for the Irish people. I still don't like the man but I think somewhat better of him and would prefer he was more like this when giving interviews with other people.
louisec, it is not the goverment of brian cowen who is to blame, it the former government.these problems didn't happen over night.this was is what us irish do best..we have to blame someone.who cares if it is the wrong person to blame, lets just react and blame SOMEBODY!as for ryan tubridy, who cares if he pre-empted every question with some outward show of respect, he still did not allow a natural flow of dialogue.i wanted to hear answers, not ryan trying to overspeak the man.
Ha love this hate the government there no good im glad tubberty got the job that interview was priceless the government needs a good beating an all sacked no 2 lisbon
having rewatched this interview, I am even more embrassed and disgusted with rtayn tubridy and how he interviewed Brian Cowen,it complelty lacked respect and did not even give him the time to answer..it was disgusting.I wanted a fair but acccountable interview, not some jumped up twat like ryan tubridy, too intent on pushing his own agenda in getting people to take him seriously.
I couldn't disagree more. This was exactly the kind of interview that was needed. Although there were many difficult questions for An Taoiseach, Ryan did not act in a disrespectful way. To the contrary, he constantly excused any smarmy uptake of the questions he posed by prefixing them with respect. There was no moment in the interview where Ryan stopped An Taoiseach from responding fully to a question he posed. Brian Cowen responded extremely well and I now have a strengthened opinion of him!!
Poor Brian, who would want the job that is virtually impossible? Its nice to see he's not effected by the media to the extent it doesn't distract his ''next step'' attitude. The way I see it is, Ireland is in the top 5 richest countries in Europe, and when the euro value collapsed, our high end of the Irish sea-saw had to drop to balance the rest.

Start now by saying NO to Lisbon and continue the fight to remove this Government.

the guarantees are open to interpretation regardless what the yes side says and how can we trust them they would have sold the country out first time round if we had listened to them and how can we trust Europe to keep its word "THE IRISH VOTE WILL BE RESPECTED" well the fact we are voting again points to the fact they can not be trusted

subsoil007 2 years ago
Cowan will do the job right if he's given a chance - we don't pay enough tax in relation to what we expect to get for our money- ppl point to countries like Denmark and Sweden arguing that they have excellent health care & well funded education systems - what ppl neglect to look at is the tax rate, reaching 59% in Sweden and 63% in Denmark.IRL rate of tax is on par with the US where the federal gov taxes 35% and local gov taxes 10% - a capitalist nation with no social health system to speak of!

I think this interview shows your lack of experience dealing with celebrities & leaders of coutries. In my opinion I think you should issue a public applogy to Brian Cowen.

of course i'd take it - but wouldnt a minister take all the perks he was being offered like going to cannes? parky is a shite interviewer aswell. Tubridy kept interrupting cowen like some kind of 15 year old - just because the knackers who go to the show applauded doesn't mean anything - the irish people are a frivolous audience who would clap at someone slipping on a banana skin
fasteddief 2 years ago
The only problem I could see with the interview was that Cowan wasn't given long enough to answer the questions. He should have been allowed waffle on in his replies so people could see him for the buffoon he is. The writing for the Irish economy has been on the wall for a few years. When BC said nobody could have foreseen what happened he is wrong. Some people did see it coming, but they were ridiculed by Cowan and others as talking down the economy and being pessimists.
