Burton is too exagerated creepy'fantasy dark. I like Zemeckis - it looks plenty dark and true to the book but...Careys "accent" is a direct mimic of Alastair Sim's Scrooge - performed in 1951! It's the only Scrooge we watch at Christmas every year - most authentic. I'm afraid ubiquitous Carey will ruin what this movie could have been - sigh.
