His stupid reading of some ancient papal bull from about Muslims being violent, caused the death of several nuns & a church burning in a Muslim country (murder by Muslims incensed that the pope had labeled them as "violent".)

In Spain, 1st the Umayyads invaded from Syria but they were very tolerant of other religions; they reigned peacefully from Cordoba & later briefly from Toledo. That lasted several hundred years until the invasion by the puritanical Berbers who murdered their way through Spain. That's when the Spanish people revolted & threw them all out.
