The two things I heard about this resembling some old favorites of mine had me interested; I heard it was a Strategy RPG like Shining Force I & II and that there was a generational marriage system like Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom. Now that I've seen it, I'm not sure it looks that great to me. Graphics have nothing to do with it, they're fine; I don't like the isometric view, the art style & aesthetics, or the emphasis on ridiculous special moves.

Okay I know this game has been around for a couple of months now.. But the more I watch it, the more it looks interesting. The thing is I saw a Limited edition Record Of Agarest War ZERO Collectors set but just passed it without thinking of checking it out. What I'm wondering is about game play and how does it compare to other grid base games. Could anyone give me a better explanation of this game and/or the contents of the collectors edition?

lol. Everyone keep saying the game sucks because of the "graphics" or "tedious" things. At 1st, I thought tactical RPGs were dumb and boring, but I was "bias" because I never ACTUALLY played it. After playing this and FF tactics, I enjoy playing tactical RPGs now. I might buy the disgaea series, but don't know yet. :D Shouldn't base a game by ONLY graphics. Someone made a good point about how FF7 had bad graphics, but was  considered a "classic" and awesome game.

@dragonboyjohnny I actually do like grid games however saying ff7 had bad graphics is wrong. Don't forget that when the game came out they were considered top notch.

@razzio It's actually pretty good in my opinion. Sure compared to games like FF the graphics aren't as good but the story is interesting. I'm about halfway through the 1st generation and it has me following the dots (no seriously) You will end up needing a guide though for the endings.

@koolyoe If you are going to have both, get them on the SAME PLATFORM. There are nice content bonuses for Zero if you play through the first one and load up the data on Zero =D

The disc-based PS3 version was exclusive to Europe.

You can import it, though. I live in the Netherlands, and it's just 13 euro's here now... on disc... brand new :)

But I already got mine. Waiting for Agarest: Generations of War ZERO now. Next week!

It's like Cross Edge with a more or less decent framerate and without so many bars (TP, PP, Break, it was ridiculous!), I might get it.

@theskyisfaling Yes, its secnsored. For a full blown nudity, they'll blurr it with pig piles of blocks so you really cant see anything.

@UpskirtPower For ps3 its on psn but 360 you can get it as disc base. Oh and the game is 9 gigs if you are gonna get it for ps3.

I had this briefly on PS3 and I got mine on disk, my friend gave me it when he bought the limited edition version. its available for download but there is also a disc version...just very hard to find

If they just made this a straight strategy game, it could've been a lot better. Grid-based movement on generic maps with basically no terrain advantages/disadvantages. . .  = what's the point? This is like Koudelka, which was a bad game, mixed with Disgaea type characters, who were annoying as hell. :\

This looks like a really stupid version of Final Fantasy tactics.

Why do you have to move first and then act on the next turn? That's just fucking stupid. They should of had it like Final Fantasy tactics where you could move AND act on the very same turn.

This setup makes it feel more like a virtual chess. Fucking boring.

If i wanted to play "chess" i wouldn't bother doing it on my TV. I was almost going to get this game to because it "looked" good. I can see i was wrong. It fucking sucks.
