FALKLAND ISLANDS AND THEIR SON ARGENTINAS CIRCUDANTES WATERS THROUGH HISTORY AND THAT ARE IN THE CONTINENTAL SHELF IN THE BONE ARGENTINA ARGENTINE SEA usurped by ENGLAND FOR OVER 150 YEARS
I was shot on Mt Longdon with 3 Para and after being operated on at Teal Inlet, I was transferred to the Uganda. I woke up opposite a Argentinian soldier who had a leg missing!
Then transferred to HMS Hecla (Survey ship converted to hospital ship), docked at Montivideo in Uruguay. Finally flying back 10 days later on a VC10
@c53204 I know you left your comment 6mnths ago but my respect for you & the rest of the lads both with us & not, is timeless, All the best we need more like you, you make me proud to be British & there seems to be less & less these days that does, I remember as a teenager watching the Canberra sail away, knowing 2 of my uncles & others I grew up around in married quarters (& the NAFFI lol) may not return, We will always remember .
@c53204 I was on HMS Hecla during the conflict, I more than likely met you. Myself and all of the ships company spent many hours looking after you all, enjoying every minute.
When the SS Uganda returned they allowed a few hundred kids from Coventry and Sheffield (in tribute to 2 of the ships that were sunk) to take the trip from Southampton to Newcastle for her refit. I was one of the 6 kids picked from my school to go. It was a strange experience for lots of kids that didn't really understand what it was all about.
