this promo is quite something, the Stones did just after the infamous Redlands bust for drugs set by The News of the World in1967.

In the video Keith plays the judge and Mick and Marianne are mimicking Oscar Wilde and Lord A. B. Douglas nicknamed "Bosie", poet better known as the lover of  Oscar Wilde in another infamous trial. The "acting" part was director Peter Whiteheads idea to make what was happening to Brian at the time mimic the 1895 trial of Oscar Wilde. Though originally thought to portray the Stones drug arrests, Brian, was systematically being forced out of the band. Not showing up etc. Nowadays the band would be to blame for not trying to get him help, back then there were no rehabs. It was survival of the fittest. Mick + Keith sitting in judgement of Brian is eerily similar to the reality of Jones demise

I assume you are referring to I Wanna Be Your Man. It is true that the Beatles offered this song to the Stones. However it was NOT their international breakthrough. The Stones their international breakthrough came in 1964 with exactly the same kind of Rhythn & Blues covers that made them allready a sensation in the British clubcircuit in 62 (when no one had heard of the Beatles yet). So whether the Beatles would have existed or not, the Stones would had become famous in 64 anyway.
