also, you said your must haves would be the lens, batt, and focus ring. what about the mic??? does it work well with the cam?

@amor1vincit7omnia I apologize for the late reply, I just added all the details in my blog in the description for set up. The camera at the time was about $500, and is still working strong. As for the microphone, it was expensive, but is a great investment. In the future I will have a post on sound. Good luck on rig, and thanks for posting.

where did you get the manual focus ring? i've tried searching on ebay but couldnt find one for the hv30..

@ChrisBoxProductions It never takes me 7 months to overlook a comment with a question, but if this is still useful, the name of the ring is the Irv focus ring. Sorry for unbelievably late reply.
