  • this is a great video you got here,

    another video is

(how to make money with your knife)

  • XM.?/NAVYSEALSAFECRACKER

  • @arjansammani In french we say index ... And I think that in english the real word is index too ...

  • @khaliddrb1 That, my friend, is not called an index finger but the "middle finger" which is in fact the finger you're referring to.

  • @ArjTwitMusic Well that explains why he always say Index :P

  • That's your middle finger, dude! Not your index finger. It would be nearly impossible to push the food through your fingers with the thumb if you used your index finger as the guide for the blade. But thanks for the advice.

  • Cool, thanks

  • WOW! I thought to do that was hard, but now I became a professional chef. The President Obama now like my food!

  • thats goood and you wont flick every 1 off:D

  • That's your middle finger!

  • @FlyByLight whats wrong with it?

  • He keeps saying that the knife is against his "index finger" - he leaning the knife against his "middle finger".

  • gotcha :P

  • lol yes thats what i was going to say =) (fu) finger lol

  • @teacherfood well, I'm not a pro like you, but I think you're wrong man, this guy, for me, have better skills than you, even a blindfolded one can see... (I saw your videos) and... I was thinking for minutes and I couldn't find the answer... so, who wants to cook blindfolded??? Some food fetish? I think this is not a competition.. But, anyone have his own opinion, that's mine.

  • yareebaa...gracias!!

  • U so funny ah... Me love you accenT...

  • nice , that alots i learn something at here

    hope to see more .

  • Thanks for the video. It is hard in the beginning. I'm going to keep practicing.

  • got a chive cutting video?, show me how you can push chives with your thumb...

  • Would be better to speak French all guide long, coz index finger gave him away.

  • Hahaha people put all kinds of videos on youtube.

  • i do believe that...its not the index finger u r using in guiding the knife sir...but the chopping trick is cool!!!

  • would it work with a chainsaw? i'm planning to kill you safely

  • u funny

  • Woo hoo i can chop celary!

  • ok ok ok, let me show you ONE more time, i PUSH, weeta thumb and i cut weet-a-my index finger, oh yeah, and thats not your index finger..

  • I thought he was going to cut his finger off.:(

  • i already knew that....

  • lol neato, i never thought about that .. good way to impress the next girl i cook for

  • waste of time

  • thats not an index its called the middle

  • That makes sence

  • I remember!

    -FunkyFingers

  • lol i usually cut my fingers at lest a few times while cooking..

  • at last my finger does not need to be cutted! :D

  • wow i didnt know how to use a knife but now i do wow you are so awesome thanks alot

  • wow, i would've never thought of that

  • thanx a lot

  • ohhh, i thought it was for stabbing...

  • taktik süperr dostumm:):):) helal sana....

  • Wonderful... I felt I was in culinary school with a professor who cared about his students learning! 5*

  • one word "wrong"

  • And here i thought sharp pointy knives were for stabbing people in the face...hmmm....reality and video games are quite at odds!

  • ROFL +1

  • Good kitchen knives are too thin bladed for facial stabbing. You'd bend or break them after only a few stabs. Keep the kitchen knives in the kitchen, and the stabbing knives wherever you do your stabbing

  • Congratulations for preventing thousands of injuries so steak knives are not outlawed by overzealous mothers and greedy lawyers in USA. overlawyered dottttcommm

  • pretty basic stuff -.-

  • basic, but usefull

  • that wasn't 5 minutes...that was 2.

  • makes sense.

i never really thought to do that. haha

  • i learnt this in school and my friend skimmed his finger nail strait off his finger lol

  • thats not your index finger retard

  • Well he is French.

  • That was really handy. Thanks.

  • Well, he got some of it right. Want to know how to really chop something(what the chef is doing),read below:

    1. Keep the knife in the same place and move it like a chew-chew train in a smooth motion.

    2. Keep your fingers back all the way and guide the knife with your knuckles, NOT YOUR FINGER!

    3. While the knife is stationary, feed, or push, the food into the knife while with your thumb.

*notes* Don't use anything too thick or tall. Only do this on wood, GLASS IS EVIL! Grovile444 is out...

  • Why is glass evil and what about plastic and such?

  • Because glass could easily be chipped (or marred or whatever). Plastic is ok though.

  • Glass dulls your knives much faster than wood. NSF rated plastic is ok, but needs to be replaced or refinished regularly as it is more prone to harboring bacteria. End grain wood is best. Long grain is ok, but harder on your knives

  • oh......my mistake I guess.

  • lol thats not his index finger

  • i noticed that too, were taking lessons from someone who cant tell fingers apart?

  • THANKS

  • piralong??..

  • Wow, a useful 5min! Except this won't work for cutting things with different shapes, like an onion.

  • looks like a nice guy

  • i thought he was gonna cut his finger cause the video i watched b4 this was about killing

  • correction for all watching this. just thought id let you guys know if u didnt catch it but its ur middle finger ontop to guide and index and ring on side. i realized he said index on top. :)

  • so much more usefull than watching dailyidea youtube account crap, thanks !

  • actually... one of the better 5min's

  • ok...ill try it later!

  • You need to watch your thumb though...

  • nah..thumb will go until the index.
