  • i am cuban and that accent of hers is not cuban. it is the result of learning spanish as a second language in a country of anglos.

  • It's not Nuyorican at all. She's never even lived in New York. It's her mother and father's Cuban accent, which is familiar (though slightly different) to the Puerto Rican accent which is mostly spoken in NY.
