completely missed this! been in a tizzy with a project lately...oh to be an abigail! it is what lurks in the hearts of the majority of most audiences, I think...the joining in...
Rob you inspire me to get to my soprano project and be a student of the uke (forming actual chords)...this morning playing along with you, on ban-jo, lol
Cheers! a wonderful and thought provoking rendition...this would be great as a soundtrack for a really crowded muni bus of passengers.....
@krabbers I added some links to other ukulele players who have done this tune and each of them has a different strum and lyrical interpretation. It is a very popular tune. Off to the side in the suggestions there are now about 11 different suggestions of Uke players doing the song. Look forward to you giving the the Special K treatment.
@MrJoncando Keef doing Hoagy I wish I could hear that... that would be a project for you. Keef has become an old sweetheart now he is a pensioner... next thing you know he will be wearing jeans that are not tight at the crotch.
It's the far-ness, I prefer. My son is always holding things up for me to read and I have to keep telling him to hold if farther away. I tell my wife to stand where I can see her.
@songblurred It's not the restraining order that excites me, that thrills and excites me, it's just the far-ness of you. Now there is a theme for a song right there... court orders, stalkers, secret admirers, worship from afar, voyeurism, telescopic lenses, copernicus had those renaissance ladies crazy about his telescope.
nice one, for some reason in my vynil collection, when i was a young lad i had a Glenn Miller 33rpm L.P. ,, in amongst the stranglers and the clash :} loved this and kept picturing a double bass going in the background, happy new year
@Wrongemboyo3 Yeah Glen Miller was tasty... just a pity swing was killed by be-bop. But Swing was perhaps the best era for couples dancing together. The bastard son of be-bop, rock and roll was also good for jiving couples but after that it was the glitter ball and disco and everybody became separated on the dance floor. Where has the real dance music gone?

It's very sweet, but this time you're being Tom Waits. :-D I like it, though. :-)

@ctrymaus Very perceptive of you... I was indeed trying to do a Mr Waits growl. Mr Carmichael and Mr Waits would have been a great song writing team.
