"those flaws" are also on the test version of the 2010 model, this review was rushed and everything he's talked about have been fixed. kickstand does not drag, it's liquid cooled, the horn doesn't go off when pulling left, and the plastic has been made out of more durable material.
Thanks for review, thanks to you guys I won't be buying one of these. The whole made in china "you can get it brand new for $4500!" makes me a bit scared... I'll probably get a ninja instead. Thanks again.
the bike I have it has a few bad points about it, my advice change the DCI and carb to 32 or 38mm, port and polish it dont tighten the screws on the fairing... and the stand problem has been solved at the manufacturer, after DCI and carb change the exhaust needs attention for more air flow.... then ride u will think u are on a 650 Ninja...
i'm sorry, sliding like that? bottom line is it's junk! a beginner would have just fallen with that, just get a hyosung and then move on to a big jap bike.
Buy the Ninja 250, if you cant afford that, buy the CBR, depending on how much these brands are in your country. If you can afford these two, stick to the bus or train!!!!
@revadimarco I agree. I myself am a 3rd year seasonal rider. Live in the north, can only ride a few months per year. I myself am a honda fan, they are indestructable bikes. Never owned or rode a ninja but heard great things about the 250 class.
Dont be macho and get a bike too big your 1st time. you will ruin your experiance and possibly a bone or two.
I had a megelli - it was RUBBISH, highest speed i got was 125kph...YES THATS KPH......it took about an hour to get there, just dont buy this, you will regret it, all the videos on here seem to be promos by the company themselves. This bike is a complete hoax and an insult to engineering

There is a Megelli Facebook group. 90% of the posts there are from owners who have had some sort of serious defect. Water getting in the tank, electrical & engines issues are a few of them.
btw... I have a Megelli 250, My first bike, I have done 750km's on it and have had NOTHING but problems!!!! i should have bought a second hand bike, would have been much funner learning on, considering it would be spedning alot more time on the road with me then at the mechanics!!!!!!!!
Well this definantly isnt a great bike but its prolly the most top rated bike to come out of china. And this review is a year old and no doubt Benche has resolved the ishues, and has added an 18 month waranty over the kowasaki. And honestly only Americans want a fullscale racer over a smaller cheaper bike that you can lay over a couple times and ride the hell out of it and wont cry over it. Point said if your just starting out buy something cheap nuthing too powerful.
What a piece of shit, 250s are gay and only for learners, except the CBR250RR of course, that classic F1 sound but they're all slow. My SXV 550 would tear you a new asshole.
@jenniferalls Consider the fact that ive passed my bike test and i had a Yamaha YZF R125 and yes i will admit that it was better in looks etc, but for other effects the megelli 250r i had last year on l plates most 250's in the uk can be restricted to 125 standard so that when u pass a bike test no need for a bigger bike remove the restricter bobs your uncle fannys your aunt for bigger bikes R6 and R1 are my favorite among GSX series and ZX Series end of the day its down to the Riders preference
@jenniferalls well you have to have something to start out with, especially when there is a 250cc limit till your 16 or 18 in some places, but i would get the ninja 250r wayy before that thing

looking to get a learner bike soon, read all the reviews on this bike and i know it's really really crappy review but i still want to get it........... any suggestions?
@jenniferalls I don't know where you live but here in New Zealand for example new bikers are restricted to 250cc bikes and less for the first 18 months of their licence - 'learners' for 6 months, 'restricted' for 12, and then 'full' periods. So bikes like this or the Ninja 250r are pretty common over here. Also something like this would be ok as a commuter I guess. I get what you're saying though lol.
Wow, thats the most disappointed I've ever been after looking at a bike. Wait, I shouldn't even call this a bike, its bigger scooter, a thicker Moped....with cheaper plastic. If I was the head of new motorcycle company I would understand starting low and working my way up but holy Hell. Maybe they sell it in California because they expect everyone (no offense) to be too high to notice its a new, motor-powered, sack of shit. If you're looking for a bike, don't buy this one.
@jenniferalls If you've got a restricted licence then a bike like this is the fastest and most powerful bike you can legally ride. Although, why anybody would choose this over the Ninja 250R is beyond me.
@jenniferalls They want to look like they're riding a much bigger, more sportier bike, and this thing looks good, but it's not fooling other motorcycle riders as to it's capabilities, just the general gullible public.
I agree it looks great, as do a lot of their bikes, but it is more about looks, and I'd steer people towards the tried and tested 250 thoroughbreds. There is a lot of crap bikes coming out from you-know-where including the Pagsta bikes.
Great even-handed review. The Kawasaki Ninja EX250 / GPX250 will still eat this thing's lunch though, being a 2-cyl 4-stroke, and until the new 2008 > versions, was in production for 25 odd years, so it is an incredibly reliable and common bike (means lots of spares). I'm on my second GPX and all I hear is horror stories about the build quality of the new bikes. The only other 250 bike worth considering, is a Honda CBR 250R which has just come back into production.
hi...i'm new to motorbikes. i'm getting my L's soon so just wondering which bike would do best with best price and performance??? any suggestions plzzzz
@ihiphopguy GPX250R / CBR250 (an older second-hand CBR250RR in good condition, but go easy, they are quick, and parts hard to come by).
The GPX250R is just a very solid performer, incredibly well balanced, strong as a tank, anyone can ride it, yet it will outride most people, the economy is insane, it has a comfortable seat, parts are cheap, it looks nice like a bigger bike, upright riding position, I can go on and on, but there are so many good things about the bike.
I have a Mini 40 Mile Busettii bike and it runs 50-55 miles on one battery charge. I also tried my friends Vortex Mountain bike by Busettii. It ROCKS ! Can get up to 32 mph top speed, and on one charge that bike set the new record of 86 miles. Hope it becomes a big hit. In California many people like Busettii because they cost around $1700 but can go 50--86 miles on one charge depending on model. Maria in Cali
I am new to sport-bike..Im planning to buy a bike..and from the appearance this bike is okay, but when i see the review.. -_- better stick with honda or kawasaki i guess.. can anyone suggest what bike i should get ? i just want a basic bike for a beginner..
@TaengooVer9 my advice is i wouldnt touch this bike with a 10 foot poll :P, designed in urope and made in china, not a good combination lol, i personaly have owned a 2009 kawasaki ninja as my first bike and it never missed a beat, looks great and is made verry well exelent bike, alltho if you get either a kwaka or a honda they are both brilliant bikes and im sure they will not dissapoint.
@Brent7472 i used to ride a semi-auto bike (idk what the correct term is.but the difference with manual bike is i dont need clutch to change gear..but it's not a scooter) for 1.5 years.. im getting my 'learner' license this month =)
well, honda cbr125 is cheap..
but kawasaki is smoother since its 250cc, right? T___T
i hv to pay full by my self since my parents dont agree with the idea of riding bike -_-
@TaengooVer9 The CBR125 is a great little bike, but only if you have a small frame and don't weigh much. It will have real trouble at highway speeds, a couple guys I know told me they can just sit on the limit with it. I get blown around by the wind on a GPX250 with fairings and the CBR125 also has fairings, so I hate to think how much it moves around in the wind.
If you commute short distances, a CBR125 is ideal. It is why you will see so many bikes of this capacity in Asia, and economy.
Overpriced. I would only pay like $2000.00 for a "scooter" like this. Listen if this thing was marketed as an alternative to a scooter and labeled accordingly it would have great sales numbers, but come on, $39,000 plus?
Holy shit my blood froze when the kickstand scraped the tarmac. He almost lost it on the lean too. As for looks... well I think the trellis frame looks kinda cheap.
great bike for beginners, cheap, looking much better than ninja 250, maybe its a bit weaker than ninja but still nice power (27hp) even new CBR 250 R has 26hp and megelli is much lighter then both of them, it has 112kg while both ninja and cbr have like 160kg, its very easy to ride and has good torque...really nice bike...
Bennche can kiss my ass. They take chinese engineering and slap their name on it, and make all the profits. If they want to make some dough, why don't they make the bike themselves, instead of paying the hard working chinese LESS THAN THEY ARE WORTH to make it for them.
Fuck chinese bikes. Have some standards, people! Those workers make peanuts and work like indentured servants. Look through the flash and fairing! It makes me sad... Even the new Ninja 250s are made in china now..
@davbeel Alright, so we'll stop all trade with China because it's "not nice". That way they can lose billions of dollars of revenue from the West and go back to living in the dark ages. Good fix, chief.
@youdkilltobeme its not a pro... every bike is supposed to track and ride straight from the factory, its not a feature. If it didn't it wouldn't be able to be on the street or pass safety. Things that make a bike pass safety are not pros. Do you see what i mean?
@HenryNguyen123 The point is to make it look sexy for a 250. Something the Ninja doesn't do. I think in 1 or 2 years they should have all these mechanical problems fixed.
looks like a ducati panigale

Wow, thats the most disappointed I've ever been after looking at a bike. Wait, I shouldn't even call this a bike, its bigger scooter, a thicker Moped....with cheaper plastic. If I was the head of new motorcycle company I would understand starting low and working my way up but holy Hell. Maybe they sell it in California because they expect everyone (no offense) to be too high to notice its a new, motor-powered, sack of shit. If you're looking for a bike, don't buy this one.
motofiend13 1 year ago
@jenniferalls I'd rather have this bike than a scooter lol. But I see your point for $3K you can buy a nice used 600.
JungleListSoldier 1 year ago
@jenniferalls Depends on what you call a good bike...
It probably has a better frame than your heavy ride...
War10ck1004 1 year ago
@jenniferalls If you've got a restricted licence then a bike like this is the fastest and most powerful bike you can legally ride. Although, why anybody would choose this over the Ninja 250R is beyond me.

Top speed???????????
ProMirex 1 year ago

The only other 250 bike worth considering, is a Honda CBR 250R which has just come back into production.

this bike looks bigger! i like that but i would buy a ninja

TaengooVer9 1 year ago
@TaengooVer9 KAWASAKI...best for beginners..or Hyosung 250.but i heard that hyosung's bike is not that good.
MrKawa24 1 year ago
@MrKawa24 i was thinking to get Honda 125cc..but after doing some research here n there.. i decided to get a kawasaki =D thanks for the suggestion
TaengooVer9 1 year ago
@TaengooVer9 buy a bike that fits you best.anyway good luck.=D
MrKawa24 1 year ago
@TaengooVer9 my advice is i wouldnt touch this bike with a 10 foot poll :P, designed in urope and made in china, not a good combination lol, i personaly have owned a 2009 kawasaki ninja as my first bike and it never missed a beat, looks great and is made verry well exelent bike, alltho if you get either a kwaka or a honda they are both brilliant bikes and im sure they will not dissapoint.
Brent7472 1 year ago
@Brent7472 i used to ride a semi-auto bike (idk what the correct term is.but the difference with manual bike is i dont need clutch to change gear..but it's not a scooter) for 1.5 years.. im getting my 'learner' license this month =)
well, honda cbr125 is cheap..
but kawasaki is smoother since its 250cc, right? T___T
i hv to pay full by my self since my parents dont agree with the idea of riding bike -_-
TaengooVer9 1 year ago
@TaengooVer9 The CBR125 is a great little bike, but only if you have a small frame and don't weigh much. It will have real trouble at highway speeds, a couple guys I know told me they can just sit on the limit with it. I get blown around by the wind on a GPX250 with fairings and the CBR125 also has fairings, so I hate to think how much it moves around in the wind.
If you commute short distances, a CBR125 is ideal. It is why you will see so many bikes of this capacity in Asia, and economy.
shades2 1 year ago
@TaengooVer9 A lot of bikes don't NEED the clutch to shift... It's more of something you SHOULD do.

Overpriced. I would only pay like $2000.00 for a "scooter" like this. Listen if this thing was marketed as an alternative to a scooter and labeled accordingly it would have great sales numbers, but come on, $39,000 plus?
RealHimura 1 year ago
@RealHimura ummm...this bike is listed at $3,399 NOT $40,000 lol
I think you missed where the comma was in the pricetag.

great bike for beginners, cheap, looking much better than ninja 250, maybe its a bit weaker than ninja but still nice power (27hp) even new CBR 250 R has 26hp and megelli is much lighter then both of them, it has 112kg while both ninja and cbr have like 160kg, its very easy to ride and has good torque...really nice bike...

Bennche can kiss my ass. They take chinese engineering and slap their name on it, and make all the profits. If they want to make some dough, why don't they make the bike themselves, instead of paying the hard working chinese LESS THAN THEY ARE WORTH to make it for them.
Re-labeling is a cunts way of making money.
davbeel 1 year ago
@davbeel alot of bikes are like that now....mcn said honda are made in chinese factories by hyosung and then the honda badge is slapped on
MrJakelawd 1 year ago
Fuck chinese bikes. Have some standards, people! Those workers make peanuts and work like indentured servants. Look through the flash and fairing! It makes me sad... Even the new Ninja 250s are made in china now..

@davbeel Alright, so we'll stop all trade with China because it's "not nice". That way they can lose billions of dollars of revenue from the West and go back to living in the dark ages. Good fix, chief.

carsnwomen91 1 year ago
@carsnwomen91 proper balance isn't a pro? you're a fucking moron.
youdkilltobeme 1 year ago
@youdkilltobeme its not a pro... every bike is supposed to track and ride straight from the factory, its not a feature. If it didn't it wouldn't be able to be on the street or pass safety. Things that make a bike pass safety are not pros. Do you see what i mean?

HenryNguyen123 1 year ago
@HenryNguyen123 The point is to make it look sexy for a 250. Something the Ninja doesn't do. I think in 1 or 2 years they should have all these mechanical problems fixed.
