  • Loved this video tutorial! The added "craziness" was so funny and entertaining.

  • Sarcasm comes out as stupidity on video.

  • @denvermatt My Dear Matt, I am absolutely thrilled to have your delightful comment grace my YouTube Page!

    Cheers,

    Madge

  • dont mix crack and yudu

  • @insearchofsight Um...okay...thanks for the invaluable insight.

  • you are lovely...that was awesome. my husband and i just purchased one thru HSN and I am so looking forward to making tshirts more geared toward our age group!! thank you for the video! cheers, Dawn

  • I have washed this shirt many, many times since we made this video, looks like a regular shirt. The ink has not faded at all. This is just a silk screen process. You can get into screening through more traditional supplies, it's expensive no matter how you slice it, but I think it depends on your needs. I am sure there are lots of great DIY silk screen vids out there, also you can have shirts created for you by a custom screen printer, especially if you want volume and great quality.

  • when you wash the shirts what happens? also can you print a design with more than one colour?? is there a better machine than this that isn't too expensive?

  • In response to Ephonpulse, I bring home the bacon in my house. You are an idiot, but I'm sure I'm not the first person to make that observation. Best of luck doing whatever it is you do and finding a woman who will be able to stand cooking for you. xoxo, Madge

  • BITCH, YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS WHO SEND YOU SHIT, IT WAS YOUR HUSBANDS MONEY. GET BACK INTO THE KITCHEN!

  • Its alright. I have livid at the time I wrote that. I would suggest including at least 2 days to dry in the tutorial. I have some good screens now but if you do not do everything perfect and let dry for at least 2 days the emulsion will be destroyed. Also, put your image on backward and put the unburned screen flat side down during burning. This gave me a MUCH better detailed screen.

  • i have a question how many t shirt can you print off of 1 design?

  • @SupaJerkKidz I haven't tested this but we think you can burn a fair amount of shirts, it's an emulsion screen. Depends on how often you use it, are you doing them all at once or cleaning the screen multiple times for multiple print runs? That's a question for the manufacturer, try emailing them!

  • yea....i def wasted my 500 bucks for this machine....smh

  • Love your video! Make more!

  • This fucking machine will be in the garbage tomorrow morning. Pay someone to make your emulsions or throw it out. DO NOT GET IT WET. Before I throw it out tomorrow Ill try one last time with a damp sponge. if those garbage emulsions don't work PERFECTLY that single last try I'm taking a bat to it.

I started with three rolls of emulsions and 5 screens. I have ONE unused screen and 2 emulsions left. Also, YOU CAN NOT MAKE YOUR OWN IMAGES TO PRINT. Printer ink runbs off and marker leaves strokes.

  • @DeadlyMixKrew I made my own image, printed it on a transparency and was able to burn a screen, but it did take a very long time to dry as you can see in the video. You should definitely contact the manufacturer. I'm just making craft videos, I don't sell the products.

  • You're a shit Screen Printer, but a decent MILF.

    7/10

  • That was a good video, I just got a Yudu and look forward to trying it! Oh, and my name is Avalon, your daughter is the FIRST person other than myself named Avalon :)

  • Thank-you! It was nice to know that the screen really do take awhile to dry and it's not just me....

  • I like the creativity of this video. So much better than your average video with boring presentations.

  • Oh I thought this video was cute! I think it's great that you show your sense of humor on vid and it keeps people interested. You really showed the truth about a certain aspect of this machine and thats the waiting time. You could've EASILY skipped forward and got to the burning and printing process but you chose to show us really that sometimes you gotta be patient! Kudos to you and always have a FUN making videos... thats what this is all about isn't ?!?!?

  • don't understand y so many ppl are hating on this vid. ITS JUST A VID! If u don't like the machine don't buy it, it very simple to do....oh but thank you margotpotter for the vid, it was great 'infotainment'.

  • @TheBlackLotus18 Thank you!

  • Hi. Thanks you for your video. I really like it. If you don't mind my suggestion, I would remove the music from your video so people can focus on your demo. I think your videos have help a lot of crafters, thanks for sharing your wonderful projects.

  • @mypinkcrafter Thank you! We add music to keep it from being to slow and dull, but I will take your suggestion to heart. I appreciate your kind comment!

  • I think it looks like fun! I want a Yudu! For all the haters on here, please just shutup and go away. Margot is adorable and crafty, and you're just jealous.

  • TOTAL JUNK. But that won't stop many of you from buying it! If you think YUDU is screen printing, then I have some sulphuric acid based facial cleanser that you will LOVE! the non printers who market this crap are giddy at your ignorance. AND richer for it. Barnum was right, Sucker born every minute.

  • bend over (approve THAT!)

  • @shoegooguru Wow, classy. I actually like your product, but I sure don't like you, Mr. Goo.

  • Jethro look, I just made a video, I didn't sell this product, I don't sell this product, I don't really care if anyone buys or doesn't buy this product. Lighten up a little, people.

  • Yudu. pffff. save your money. This piece of crap is built for those who are fooled into buying junk . Craft moms and ignorant young girls like it because it reminds themn of their 'Suzie homemaker Magic Ovens. this is the worst table top printer out there.

  • @shoegooguru I really don't have an opinion either way, this isn't my product and they didn't pay me to make a video. I just made a video. For the simple exercise of making t-shirts, this was easy. This isn't a professional machine, it is a hobby machine. If you don't like it, don't buy it. I'm not a 'craft mom', for the record. I have a thriving business as a designer, 7 time author, TV host and consultant. Sexist, much?

  • I loved your video, was wondering if you had a tip, I just tried my first print and everything went great until I actually printed my shirt. Black shirt/pink ink. I flooded but it came out really light, and went through the shirt to the board, I am going to hard, is it supposed to be kind of puffy the paint? thanks

  • I enjoyed your video but I guess I ride the "yudu short bus" because my lil project turned out crappy. But you're video was entertaining nonetheless. :)

  • @queeniebunz My hubby has done silk screening, so maybe that helped us have decent results. I'm sorry about your project...but hang in there! I'm the queen of craftastrophes, I do understand!

  • repulsive topped off with a generous dallop of utterly annoying

  • @WickedOneVA Were you talking about your comment or my video? To each his or her own, my dear. Were I to spend my days worrying about making everyone like me, I'm quite sure I'd be as miserable as you, Wicked One. TTFN.

  • @WickedOneVA took the words right outta my mouth

  • @mzw Maybe you should ask her to give them back, how rude.

  • So.......do you recommend buying one of these gadgets or what? I've been wanting to make a Fear the Beard T Shirt (since they cost about 30 dollars!) and I know that I can buy an Orange shirt for 5 bucks and I could use the Yudu over and over and over again and make different designs. :)

  • @yankee82090 I think if it's for small runs and you're going to use it enough to cover the cost of the machine and supplies you may want to consider one of these. There are also websites where you can upload images and they'll print things for you if you don't want to invest in the machine and supplies.

  • shes so weird but the ha[ppyness she has is kool

  • cute video, wondering if I want to get this. i thought it was cute to watch the sun go down through your window! Shirts were cute you made!

  • What I find fascinating is how threatened people are by this simple craft tool. It's not a four color press, it is not a threat to professional screen printing. It's just a tool for folks to use for home decor or personalizing fashion items. That's it. This is just a fun video we made with a machine sent to me to explore. I don't sell the machines nor was I paid for the videos. The real threat to screen printers are sites like Zazzle. Breathe in, breathe out, wash, rinse, repeat.

  • If you are an impatient crafter, what are you doing with a yudu? Yudu is the cheapest and most unreal take on screen printing that is out there. I could show anybody how to screen print faster for half the cost , faster and with better results. You can avoid the truth if you want to, but it only at your own expense and the people who follow your ignorance. meanwhile I have, do and will continue to print circes around you. Amazes me how people are so happy in their expensive ignorance yudu..PFF!

  • Love your wonderful sense of humor ! And your little girl is just the same ! Very fun watching your videos !! TFS !

    HUGS,JANIE

  • @margotpotter man your hilarious on my way to purchase the yudu thank you for the awesome video hahaha

  • I really adore your humor funny very funny

  • does yours bleed thru?

  • @ebassify I haven't had any bleed through, but I used really thick t-shirts. Perhaps a thinner shirt might end up bleeding?

  • @margotpotter and i also notice u did one pass that could be it does it fade on the one pass?

  • @ebassify Mine has stayed sharp through many washings, but maybe more than one pass particularly if you're working with colors other than black!

  • Great video Thanks for helping me!! Your so funny!!:))

  • THE YUDU!!! buy now for $184.99 and you'll recieve a piece of crap plastic box, a lack of screen printing knowledge and also a crappy after product! BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!! order in the next 10 minutes, YES THAT'S RIGHT ONLY 10 MORE MINUTES AND YOU'LL GET ANOTHER YUDU FOR DOUBLE THE PRICE!!!! THAT'S NOT ALL!!! you'll also recieve a lifetime supply of HANES shirts because if you're purchasing this product, you're more than likely to be using them!! *fine print* this thing sucks.

  • @xerolone My dear, please send any and all complaints to the manufacturer. I don't work for them, I just made a YouTube video. M'kay?!

  • I wish you had a sewing machine video posted, you make everything look so simply while others dont give proper direction.

  • @SexyStaci21 I'm not very skilled at sewing, but if I ever get time to hone my skills, I'll definitely make a video!

  • @margotpotter

ok cool because your videos are the best

  • I love the video, ur very happy and its contagious... Keep up the great work.

  • I hate how the emulsion sheets are $10 a piece.

    omfg

  • I'd like to get one, but they don't seem very cost efficient. Certainly seems like it may be easier and less messy than the usual way though. How many times did you use your one screen?

  • I love this product! It's so simple! :D

  • add captioning please! I'd love to know how to start printing...

  • @karmapunx Not sure what you're missing, you make an image on the computer, print on a transparency, put the emulsion sheet on the screen, burn the transparency, dry the screen, wash the screen, put the ink on the screen as shown in the video flooding it with the squeegee and then you lower the frame and drag the ink across the surface with pressure using the squeegee. That's it. If you buy the machine, there are instructions.

  • How do Yudu?

  • your insane.but thanks anyway.

  • @phuctlyfe Well at least my moniker isn't phuctlyfe! I'm not insane, I just try not to take life too seriously. Which keeps me happy. Ya might wanna give it a try.

  • She looks off to the side like she forgot her colors...

  • @KiloLima39 Not sure what that means, but okay! We did this live without rehearsal, so it is what it is my friend!

  • how did it look inside out? does it bleed through?

  • @anjeltears There is no bleed through, it looks just like any other screen printed shirt.

  • This lady is hilarious lool

  • @jahforlife06 I don't sell machines, sorry. I love my machine! It's not for sale. Maybe try eBay or Etsy...

  • check the blue MASONIC symbol on her cupboard !!!!

  • @MoroccanAnwar It's a yard sale find, vintage ceramic. I don't know where they went, come to think of it! Thanks for reminding me!

  • wait you didn't show on your video on how is your image been printed into your tranparency sheet

  • @Malditadawako You use an inkjet printer

  • @jcruz04 Yes! Thank you!

  • wait! you didn't show us on how is that image printed up to your transparency sheets. pls

  • @Malditadawako

I used my computer printer. I made the drawing, scanned the image. added text in Photoshop, sized it and printed it out. That's all there is to it!

  • Thanks I love the video

  • Just received my YuDu, cant wait to get started.

Just to share a tip - you can use Michaels 50% off coupons on YuDu products.

  • The yudu you see in the video is only half size. I have 1 and I LOVE it I have had it about 2 weeks and already people are placing orders for 20 shirts or more! The ink won't wash out like mr fire THINKS as long as you remember to heat set your image afterwards. Madge is right the screen doesn't dry in 20 or even 40 minutes but if you sit it in front of a box fan on 2nd speed it WILL dry in 20 minutes or less OR you can use a blow dryer on a cooled low heat setting.

  • Is this a joke? What a waste of money! This is something that you will buy and use once and never get it out again.....wait 6 months and there will be many on ebay.

  • No, it's not a joke. It's for hobbyists who may want to use this for home decor or fashion and not buy into screen printing on a larger level. It's not for everyone, but then again what is? Do what makes you happy my friend, life is too short to do otherwise! xoxo, Madge

  • I am all for that..... people need to know that this is a machine & that has a long set up time(art to finish), Ink will not hold up well in washings, supplies r high and it is easy to mess up. Infomercial shows tprinting promotional shirts...Promo shirts go for as little as $2.50 each. So if you have art capabilities, time to spare and need a shirt to match a pillow case buy it. Oh Check out ebay 1/2 cost only used once.

  • I'm a designer and a performer. We made a video with a machine provided to me by this manufacturer, which is what I state in the video. I'm not here to sell this to people or to defend it and I don't get paid to promote it. I've been shopping in thrift stores, flea markets and eBay for years, I'm all for a bargain!. If you can find a deal on this puppy, go for it! My shirt has held up to many washings. But it's easy to get shirts made at places like Cafe Press if you need Promo shirts.

  • Yes you are right and I am not knocking you just the product. As you can guess I own a screen printing company. If you did buy one try looking for some emulsion at hobby lobby, much cheaper than the film. Or buy some from a local screen printer. Also the clear film that the art is printed on - same thing.

  • It's good for folks who come to watch the video to have that info, so thanks for sharing! Good luck with your business! Cheers, Madge

  • Im thinking of getting this but i had a couple question...

    1. I heard the amount of t-shirts you can do at one time without starting over is very low, about 3-5, is that true?

2.People complained that the mesh screens were cheap and had a low mesh count. Ive noticed they now have a 220 mesh screen, have you tried it and its it better?

    3. Between the emulsion, ink, emulsion remover, t-shirt, etc...is this cost effective for resale?

Ty for your time and great video...

  • Hi

I honestly do not have the answers for your questions. I wish I did, but I've only used this for personal use and a few times and I'm not a paid spokesperson for the company so I can't speak to the logistics. Also since I've not used regular silk screens, I don't know. I think for professional use and volume screening, this may not be the best option if you're going to be doing resale of the shirts. You can email the company directly via their website.

  • I'd love it if you could help me out Im tryin to decide if I should get one of these or not

  • I think it's a matter of how much you will use it and if it's right for your needs. That's kind of a personal decision. It's a great tool for the right fit, smaller printed items in small print runs.

  • got my yudu today whoo hoo

  • can you do a family photo??? how does it turn out?

  • To do a photo, you would need to reduce it to pixelated images, like the Warhol screen prints. I would imagine that would require some time in Photoshop or another photo altering software to create a pixelated version of the photograph. I'm not a Photoshop expert, but I'm quite sure it can be done and wouldn't be too hard.

  • I really want one of these !!!

  • I just ordered a Yudu, so as a way to get started with it, I watched your Yudu video (which I really enjoyed). On the video you used a pattern of a black sheep, I love sheep - black sheep, white sheep, classy sheep, silly sheep, all kinds of sheep. I also love the sheep pattern that you used in that video. Is there any chance I could get a copy of the pattern? Please - Please - Please!

A hopeful, in advance, "Many thanks to you"...Susan

  • Susan we'd have to chat about that. I'll email you tomorrow! Cheers, Madge

  • Great video...I saw the infomercial last nite...n I liked the fact u gave tips on what not to do that we all may do...thxs:) I cant wait til I move so I can get the cricut n the yudu...

  • hi! nice video, how many t shirts can you print for each bottle of ink? thanks alot

  • I think that depends on your screen and how much ink you use per shirt. I'd say consult with the folks on the YuDu Website.

  • I've just bought a yudu machine and having a hard time with the Emulsion sheet. I've miss up on four sheet so far. For some reason everytime I put it on the screen it has alot of air bubbles. Is it because I didn't get the screen wet enough? and when I but to dry for 40 minutes I try to peel it off it doesn't come off all the way. Is there any advice you can give me?

  • I honestly don't know what is causing your problems, I'd suggest you go to the YuDu website and contact customer service to trouble shoot before you buy any more screens. It does sound like you may not be wetting it enough...and you need to use the squeegee to get the air bubbles out...have you been doing that? I think you should talk to the company!

  • whats better criket or youdu?

  • They're totally different machines, so I guess it depends on your needs. The cool thing about YuDu is that you customize the images, the Cricut is great for folks who papercraft or do other crafts and want pre-made templates. Plus the Cricut cuts things and the YuDu prints things.

  • it would help if she actual did the process instead of telling us what she did

  • What part of the process did you not see me do, exactly? Because the emulsion sheets are light reactive, I couldn't show that one step. I showed absolutely everything else. Please feel free to make your own video my friend! Cheers, Madge

  • great job on the video, how many clear sheets do they give you??

  • I have to check that out! I'll let you know as soon as I do.

  • Seriously. I'm watching this video as I am waaaaaaaaaiiiiiiting for my emulsion to dry. I've ruined two emulsion sheets so far. I totally cracked up watching you wait! Thanks for the laugh.

  • Ha! Try using far less water AND a hair dryer.

  • I have heard it doesn't work well for smaller children's sized shirts, for instance a bodysuit or a toddler's tee. Have you been successful at this?

  • You'll just need a small platen, I'd use maybe a cardboard sleeve.

  • Can u buy the actual YuDu or can u only keep it for a certain number of days?

  • You can buy it.

  • Do these have to be used on t-shirts? Could you do mass printed invitations? Love your videos.

  • You could screen print ANYTHING you can fit inside of the machine! I had some blank tees lying around so that was what we used. Why not curtains...pillow covers...scarves...scrapbook pages...

  • can you only use Yudo brand ink, or can you use any kind of ink? What kind of ink do you use?

  • They sent me their inks which they recommend you use, but I'm sure you could substitute other silk screen friendly paints.

  • i want a giant penis shirt!

  • Whatever floats your boat!

  • i want one so bad x3 my dad is buying me one for my b-day so i cant wait *_*

  • just got a yudu for Xmas can't wait to get started!

  • Great Video!!! Planning on purchasing one......

  • i got mines ..it just arrived and tomorrow i'm ready to get it on!!!

  • "Mines". I just recieved my yudu. Learn to speak english.

  • i just got mines!!!! ready to have some fun!!!!

  • I ordered mine I can not wait to get it I am going to be pumping shirts out like crazy so eventually i'm going to have to upgrade but to start out this is going to be awesome

  • I just ordered mine i cant wait for it to come in

  • I married into it, but I like it too!

  • do you only get one transpairent sheet

  • I believe you get three. If you Google YuDu you'll find retailers with info about what you get with the initial set up.

  • You can go to any office supply store and buy more. They are inexpensive

  • Good to know!

  • Great Yudu video!

  • Where can i get it from ? Can u give me the #

  • Google YuDu! They have a website. It's available at the major craft chains and on HSN.

  • I really would like try this!!!

  • Can you do more than one color?

  • Yes, you burn multiple screens and screen the image in layers, just like a regular screen press.

  • Does the ink soak through the Shirt? How do you dry the shirts? Great Video.

  • Nope, it's standard screen printing ink. You just need to let it dry for about ten minutes and then it's good to go. Make sure you pre-wash your shirt so the sizing is out of it and then it will retain the image permanently.

  • jajaja u had me cracking up with the sheep impression lol...just for that im subscribing

  • How much does one of these cost?

  • These machines are around 200 bucks for the machine and the starter kit.

  • I like how at the beginning of the video, it looks about 10:00am outside. But, by the time the shirt is done, it looks like it's 10:00pm....lol (jk) Great job on the presentation and showing how to use the YuDo. Funny, great stuff---especially the wookie stuff....lol

  • Hmmm...not sure what you're asking. You can do a section of hte image, but the screen is only so big. If you have a printer that can print larger sheets and you can get a larger transparency...then yes. It just can't be bigger than the screen.

  • Hey. I have a quick question. I have a design idea on photoshop but i want the image to fill up a space bigger than what is on the transparency. Is this possible to do? If so, can you let me know. Thanks!

  • Laurenandjim, The only thing I can tell you is that you probably need to get a bigger transparency sheet. As in one that is larger and has larger area for the design. In which you should be able to go to Micheals, Jo-Anns, other craft or Office Supply store and buy transparency sheets rather cheaply in the size you are needing. Otherwise, I would think that by using Photoshop that you should be able to re-size the image to fit the transparency sheet.

  • Excellent tutorial. Check out my videos for tutorials on screen printing and heat transferring tee shirts. Questions welcome.

  • I really want one of these now I long for the days when I can create my own custom shirt designs.

  • Margot, when i did it it came out good but the grid lines from the screen were visible? help.

    Thanks.

  • Did you tape around the open edges around your design to prevent the ink from bleeding? I used blue painter's tape. The screen shouldn't leave any lines, it's a very fine screen.

  • YAY! you made it look so easy! I'm getting one soon.

  • Thanks for this video. It pretty much sold me on the YUDU which I just started playing with. I just wanted to tell you that your video is so much more informative than the DVD that comes with the YUDU. Making my first screen was kinda nerve-racking but your first hand account help avert some potentially dire mistakes. Thanks again. When I get some projects done, I'll share them on my FB page.

  • You can burn multiple screens to make multi-colored designs. They have information about that on the YuDu website. I would say yes...it totally depends on how much ink! The good thing is, once you've burned your screens, you don't have to make any more.

  • I'm a comedian and I'm thinking of getting one to make my own shirts. How many colors can you print and I guess the quantity of shirts you can make depends on how much ink: right?

  • chelcie3 - If you are asking about the number of colors you can use to make 1 shirt, I believe the Ad said up to 4 colors, but I may be wrong. The quantity of shirts, will depend on the amount of ink needed. As with any silk screen design the number of shirts you are able to make depends on the design. If you are using a large design that covers a lot of area on the shirt. You will not be able to make as many shirts as you would if using a small design.

  • LMFAO that was funny. can this thing do large t-shirts and 2xl's? i have a lot of fat friends :)

  • thanx 4 ur video the 1 that came with it sucked lol 2 the others mine cost about $200 on sale

  • OMG! I want one!

And, btw, you get my vote for best YuDu demo on youtube. :)

  • Thank you! I Just got my Yudu in the mail yesterday. I heard the DVD it came with is boring and the guy in it is awkward, your video is cute and helpful! Thanks!

  • Thanks! We try to make it fun.

  • How'd using it go??

  • Did you watch the video?! It was easy and the shirts look great. We had a little trouble with oversaturating the screen, but once it dried it was smooth sailing.

  • I did not know that was your video. lol o.k then, thanx!

  • Well this is my video here on YouTube, there's a DVD with the product that I've not seen. Sorry for the confusion! I guess you're asking Ninky Blink!

  • Thanks Wallis. Let me know if you find the gin, I could use a little nip about now!

  • I just have to say that I am only half way through your video and have not stopped laughing, you are hilarious (in a good way), thanks for that, you are a tonic --- now to find some gin to go with that! :-)

  • I haven't used the emulsion remover, I want to print more of this image first. If you remove the emulsion completely, you're next image will definitely be just as good. The screen is just a platform for your emulsion.

  • I'm curious to know if you tried to reuse the screen by cleaning it and burning in another image? If you did, was the second image as good as your first?

  • How much does one of these systems cost? This is really neat!

  • Go to the whatdoyudu website for info on pricing and product configurations. It's an investment, but think of all you can do with it!

  • would u happen to know how much one of those babies would cost around?

  • around $200 / $250

  • Great Wookie!!!!

  • thanks! i saw this last week at michael's. i've been wanting to make my own tees for a while. :D
