Its funny how so manny people dont relise that these guys have always been Shin Getters pilots. They were the main characters of the Getter Robo Go manga witch was Shin Getters first apearance.

Cool This must be where Gurren Lagann got the idea for how it should look when Gurren's arms and legs grow longer during Gattai or when they combine with Arc-Gurren or Chouginga Dai-Gurren to create the Arc-Gurren-Lagann and Chouginga Gurren-Lagann respectively (Arc-Gurren-Lagann being the smallest of the two, its height in not even half the radius of the Chouginga Gurren Lagann's fingers, but then, CGL was made from a battleship disguised as the Moon, while the AG was just built on Earth...)

I think the Neo Getter pilots (which are the same as Getter Go's) are more faithful to the original Getter Go manga (which in the cartoon are very straightforward, yet uninspiring). So, I consider the Neo Getter team to be a redeem of the Getter Go team.

It's actually supposed to look demonic. Especially the later versions of it, in New Getter for example about halfway through the series a major point of contention is that fact that Getter-1 looks like a massive devil with a fiendish tomahawk.

Yeah, but Armageddon's Gou probably would have never been conceived without Getter Go's version having been created.

It's funny though. In almost every Getter Team, the Getter 1 pilot is a hot-head and the Getter 2 pilot is the level-headed one, but Armageddon switched that around.

Great stuff, Shin Getter is definitetly one of my vrey favorite Super Robots.

My only complaint with this series is how much they toned down Shin Getter's power. Armageddon Shin Getter (piloted by Ryoma, Hayato, and Benkei of course) would have killed Gol and his saucer with a wave of its hand.

Agreed. Well, that and the fact that four episodes was a bit to short. Shin vs. Neo was great as it was both a new take on Getter Robo and still had a lot of familiar things, so exploring it a bit further would have helped the show. After all, the other OVAs was longer then this.

mistakes? armaggeddon? armaggeddon takes off right after the assasination of saotome hagase in the manga.i think it is probably the best one out, although New Getter Robo has more manga stuff like the Getta Emperor and the such

What? Armageddon's the sequel to the Moon Wars audio drama. Which to be fair is a farther cry from the original series than Neo or New ever were.

Not that it's bad, of course. And I always sorta imagined Getter Emperor to be that massive Getter at the end of Armageddon, and the Ryoma in it was the one from New.
