Around the world we honor "Just Buildings" because of the experiences , people, and memories that lived there. In this case, it is necessary to "Tear down and then Build Up." I think the new AU building will make its own experiences and memories. I am pleased that we will serve our students better. But....I still don't like the hilarity in tearing down our Dome.
Save it for the building of the new Center. Buildings matter, Texasteacher1
Since I have been to many campmeetings in the Dome, went to AC then, and saw it being built, I cannot stand to watch, much less yell and enjoy its demolition ! Whoever did this must not have had an understanding of the meaning of the DOME. It is difficult and impossible to view. Take it OFF !! Shirley Stansbery
On the contrary, actually. I appreciate very much the historical significance of the Dome. Many people's lives have been changed over the years in that building. However, a demolition of any kind can be enjoyable to watch. It just so happened that it was the dome being torn down in this instance.
It "Just Happened" to be a wonderful, loving remembrance...a building way ahead of its time . And so much was involved. I still cannot watch that awful video and hear the screams and hilarity.
All of Anderson proudly watched it go up, and any hilarity was POSITIVE. It was hard to lose any of the historical buildings that held so many lifetime memories.
Not to be argumentative, but it was, after all, just a building. The events that happened and memories made in the building are the important things and were by no means demolished with the structure. Plus, the university now owns the land and has plans to use it in the future to impact the lives of thousands of students through new and improved facilities. I do, very much, appreciate your input, as much as it may sound like I don't. Take care.
11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. 12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
what is with these young minds full of mush that they cheer about destruction.
