This is my favorite version of this music. The first time I heard, the last part made me cry and this version make me think about my life. I think this lyric was written for me. Specially the part of dreams... The first time, I heard this version I have a fight with my parents... Of corse with this version I cry... It's true is no coincidences...
This makes me cry if anyone watches Mildred pierce on hbo they'll know why little ray sang this in the bathtub while her mother died and then next episode she died of a fever
This album was a gift when it first came out. Lost in too many moves. There is just something special about the simplicity and the class of this classic. Thanks for taking time to find this Jewel.
Thank you so much for uploading this song. I have listened to it many times and I continue to be moved by its simplicity and beauty. @ChristopherPhilippe is so right..."it is a whispered secret".
i'm so glad i first heard this on vinyl, when i was given my own phonograph... 30 years later, i've moved house a few times, the record player's gone and the album is somewhere in the world, hidden in the two and a half-decades of nomadic life. but i still know every note and every syllable from the carefully laid stylus... i'd love to find this on CD, can anyone help?
Have you noticed that some of the most elegant music is with a small simple production. This is a case in point. Beautifully performed. Two other examples are Doris Day and Andre Previn on Duet and Tony Bennett and Bill Evans on Together Again. All are spectacular. Misty is from this Sammy Davis album. These are all must haves.
@EdWaldrup I've noticed, I've noticed! While I agree that "Misty" is a great song, unfortunately it's not on this album (Sammy Davis, Jr. sings-Laurindo Almeida plays) Perhaps it is on another album of the two of them, or it may have been on the original; I just have the CD.
These are two consumate artists who work together perfectly. I had forgotten how wonderfully Sammy Davis could deliver a song. Laurindo Almeida I could never forget.
