  • OMG IT'S 3DGAMEMAN!

  • Why can't you just solder it?

  • You're so far from making any type of sense at all you should just give u[ pn trying.

  • what does lapping do?

  • making a metal surface mirror-like

  • lapping makes the surface of the cpu completely flat to get best contact with your heat skin. because when you buy a new cpu the surface is not 100% flat so its not best for contact with the heat sink

  • aparently lowers cpu tempatures because it gets rid of any cracks, curvatures or rough surface making a better contact for heat to conduct through.

  • @statman4ever

What lapping is ... is when you sit in a chair while one chick is facing the same direction as you... another chick faces the opposite direction on the other chick boucing her tits into her face meanwhile during the bouncing drives your dick further into the chick in the middle xD Just kidding.. what lapping does is create a flat mirror like finish that gets your processor cool by a few degrees basically like what metalheadplus said.

  • @Restaurant25 yeah I was lapped two days ago and now I have increased performance and I no longer burn both ends.

  • @Restaurant25 Lapping improves cooling by ensuring a flat surface for contact.

  • i have a few questions. 1 i have a intel celeron 420 can i lap it? 2 i have 5 pieces of sandpaper but there not dif grits. 3 of them are a very fine 220 grit, and the other 2 are 100 grit. can i just cut the sandpaper so i have like ten pieces and then lap it? or do i need the other grits for this to work? thxx

  • i have a couple questions for.

    1. What kind of temps do you get?

    2. Does it really make that much of a difference?

    3. Does it matter if i only do the cooler?

  • nice job :)

    i love nautica :)

  • LOL looks like Rodney Reynolds (3dgameman)

  • Your music makes me vomit.

  • You look like a younger version of Rodney Reynolds (3dgameman)

  • LOL

  • rofl u do ahahha

  • i was just about to comment on that! "Oh, it's THIS guy again... oh wait..." LOL

  • rofl

    "Wheres the power"

Nice lap job dude .. I'm gettin that same cooler

  • it wasn't that hard at all.

  • very nice job m8 im thinking i might do it with a water block and a quad or maby a duo as i can get a slightly beter frame rate and bench mark but i want to have a go at laping

  • do a razor blade test to see if the cooler needs it and what type is it?

  • Good job mate, I wanna do this to my Q6600 if I only did it to me heatsink would it help or would I have to do it to both to get the effect? I know doing it to both will help but just doing it to one would that help too?

  • So you used 400, 600, and 2000 grit for the Zalman 9700?

  • nvm it says 400, 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000 in the beginning. I want to lap my 9700 but dont know which grit of sandpaper to buy.

  • wetdry sand paper auto zone

or any auto body shop or auto motive paint shop

  • Nice lapping job! I plan on lapping my cpu this weekend :) I have a question for you though, do you wet the sand paper? Thanks!

  • Many people say to lap dry, many people say to lap wet. If you were to lap wet, i would use 99% isopropyl alcohol since cpu's don't like water. It is just a choice you have to make.

  • yes to have smooth surface

  • great video keep them coming.

  • Thanks bro

i'm going to do the Zalman 9700 just for the hell of it make sure both are trully flat

    and i did subscribe
